Heddiw, wrth i ni barhau i ddathlu 10 mlynedd o'r Cyngor Ieuenctid yn ystod Wythnos Gwaith Ieuenctid, rydym yn clywed gan Ifan Meredith a oedd yn gadeirydd y cyngor yn ystod 2023-2024.

Today, as we continue to celebrate 10 years of the Youth Council during Youth Work Week, we are hearing from Ifan Meredith who was the council chairperson during 2023-2024.

One of my highlights as Chairperson for the youth council was to have the opportunity in April at the end of my term to address the full Council. It was important that they were aware of the youth council’s work during the year and this was important to me in order to ensure that they were aware of the matters that affect young people.

Also, the trip to see Ben Lake MP in London and the guided tour he provided around Westminster Palace and the House of Commons was an unforgettable experience; along with an opportunity to share young people’s concerns with Elin Jones AS whilst visiting the Senedd.

I am now studying Journalism and Communication at Cardiff University and in my second year of studying. Since 2025 I have also been a freelance journalist and although I now live in the Capitol City, I still keep in close contact with Ceredigion

Hello, I am Ifan Meredith. I was a member of Ceredigion County Council Youth Council back in 2023 – 2024. During this period I was fortunate to be the Youth Council Chairperson.

The youth council is important as it ensures that the voices of young people are heard. It’s important that a variety of opinions from all over Ceredigion is heard on the youth council and that our opinions are passed on to those within power within our County. I think my role as the youth council chairperson was very important in implementing this, and making sure that young people’s voices was being heard.
