Stand for what is RIGHT.
Even if it means standing ALONE. 📐🔥

Freemasonry doesn’t teach us to follow the crowd.

It teaches us to follow the compass.

There will be moments — in Lodge, at work, in life — where speaking up costs you comfort. Where doing the right thing isolates you. Where silence would be easier.

But easy isn’t the standard.

RIGHT is.

A Mason is taught to act upon the square.
That means,
Fairness when it’s unpopular.
Integrity when no one is watching.
Courage when agreement would be safer.

Standing alone doesn’t mean you’re wrong.

Sometimes it means your backbone works.

The pillars don’t lean because the wind blows. They stand because they’re built on solid ground.

So if you must stand alone — stand upright.
Stand calm.
Stand principled.

Because character isn’t measured by applause.
It’s measured by what you refuse to compromise.

Builders don’t bend to every storm.
They endure it.

A Sad and Cautionary Tale copied from another FM

A few brethren, who forgot their obligations and sought the gavel for power, not service; the square for judgment, not justice; the compasses for control, not restraint.
A Lodge that once stood as a temple of Light, its pillars firm, its working true, its purpose pure. The Great Architect was honoured in every act, and harmony bound the hearts of all within. But in time, a shadow crept across the mosaic pavement. A few, forgetting their obligations, sought the gavel for power, not service; the square for judgment, not justice; the compasses for control, not restraint.
Through whisper and deceit, they dimmed the flame upon the altar. The Light did not depart all at once, but faded, slowly, sorrowfully, as trust was broken and truth neglected. The working tools grew heavy in the hands of the faithful, for labour without unity is but toil.
Although its walls remain, the lodge stands hollow within. Let this be a lesson to all who labour in the Craft: that corruption need not roar to destroy, it need only whisper where vigilance sleeps, and the Light shall wane until rekindled by humility, brotherly love, and the truth we once swore to uphold.

A post borrowed from a Brother, but Relative to us all.

Let's shed some Light on Masonry for a moment.
OK, not Masonry, but Masons. I am almost positive I will get feedback on this thought. But it is what came to mind this morning.

There is a jurisdiction that lost a good Brother. I won't mention names because it could be any jurisdiction, any Lodge, it may even be you. This Brother went through some serious junk. It appears it gave him to pause, and he looked around a bit. Saw things he did not much care for. Folded up his apron, laid down his tools, and walked away. He is no longer an active Mason.

Yesterday, there was a post and a comment in the thread that mentioned the word hypocrisy. Was he wrong?
No, I can not say he was. Let me explain for a moment.

Is Freemasonry a perfect system? Yes, I believe it is. It has value, morals, and it teaches us how to live in unity with our Brothers, and fellow man (That’s human to be honest).

People get involved in Masonry for a number of reasons. In my opinion (as humble as it is), some are for the right ones, and others are not. The goal is to take a good, hard look at ourselves and use the tools we are given, and make a change. That does not always happen. Sometimes we feel that when we join Masonry (much like your local religious group), we take a knee, say a few words, and POOOOFFFF all is better and the light comes on.

No, that is the time you get to start working on the things you see.

Some take that seriously, and others do not.
Maybe they did at first, and things got in the way.
Maybe titles became more important than connections.
By the way, the most important title you will ever receive was bestowed upon you the first time you stepped into the Temple room. Don’t let the others fool you.

While it may seem like I am kicking people in the knee, I'm not, well, not really. This reminds me of one of the reasons I walked away from the “church”. Jesus is one of the coolest figures written about. Love your neighbor as yourself. Who here condemns you? Neither do I. Blessed are the…and Woe to you who are not. The first being the marginalized members of his community, and the latter those taking advantage of them.

Sounds great, huh? It is, and we should strive to live that way. But what do the church and Masonry have in common? People. We have people who are far from perfect. Some who claim one thing and practice another. Now that is NOT everyone. But let's be honest, any and every organization in the known world has them.
If we want to be 100% honest, we need to ask do we live up to the principles of Freemasonry each and every day.

Before you think I am pointing at you, I am looking in the mirror.

I am an imperfect Mason, and I make mistakes. Sometimes I break off more stone than is needed. Others not enough. My plumb line may not be as straight as it should be. Square is not a perfect 90 degrees. Maybe there is too much water in my mortar, or not enough.

All I can do is try. Then look at my Brothers, because they are my Brothers, be they right or not, and hope they are trying too?
Maybe they are, maybe they are not. I can't answer that.

Again, I am not passing judgment on anyone, maybe myself a little. But, I know a Lodge that lost a damn good Brother. Was it yours?

To all poor and distressed Freemasons, whithersoever dispersed.

As the Season of Hope fills our homes with lights, laughter, and warmth, this ancient Masonic phrase takes on a deeper and more tender meaning.

For while many celebrate in abundance, there are Brethren who quietly endure hardship, far from home, burdened by trials, or struggling in silence. And it is precisely at this season of goodwill that the true spirit of Freemasonry is most clearly revealed.

This season reminds us that:
• Charity is not seasonal—it is sacred
• Brotherhood is not confined to the Lodge—it lives in action
• Relief is not measured by wealth—but by willingness

“To all poor and distressed Freemasons” is our gentle reminder that somewhere, a Brother may need not just material aid, but presence, prayers, and compassion. A visit. A message. A helping hand. A listening heart.

Just as the Christmas story speaks of humility, love, and hope born in the simplest of places, Masonry calls us to extend light where darkness lingers—wheresoever dispersed.

May this holiday season find every Mason remembering that the greatest gift we can give is not wrapped in paper, but offered in Brotherly Love, Relief, and Truth.

🎄 May no Brother feel forgotten this Season of Hope.
So mote it be 🙏🏻

🕯️ Saint John’s Day – December 🕯️

As the year reaches its darkest hour, we are reminded that Light is never absent — it is only waiting to be revealed.

Today we honor Saint John the Evangelist, a keeper of wisdom, truth, and divine light. In the stillness of winter, we reflect on the sacred balance between the Sun and the Moon, the seen and unseen, the temporal and the eternal.

Between the two burning tapers, we are reminded that knowledge must be guided by virtue, and that the Light we carry is not meant to be hidden — but shared.

This is a season of reflection, renewal, and brotherhood.
A time to remember who we are, where we’ve come from, and the Light we are called to carry forward.

“And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.”
— John 1:5

May your path be steady, your heart be humble, and your light burn bright — even in the longest night.

Happy Saint John’s Day.
