Position: - AOD Residential Recovery Centre for Boys [x1]
Location: Lautoka Employment Type: Full-time
We are seeking a skilled, reliable, and a compassionate Cook to join our team at our AOD (Alcohol and Other Drugs) Residential Recovery Centre for Boys.
About the Role
As our Cook, you will play a vital role in supporting the recovery journey of our residents by preparing nutritious, wholesome, and delicious meals. You will create a positive mealtime experience in a supportive, ther**eutic residential environment, contributing to the overall wellbeing of residents and staff.
Key Responsibilities:
✅️ Plan and prepare daily meals, including breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks for residents and staff.
✅️ Ensure all meals are nutritious, balanced, and cater to special dietary requirements (e.g., vegetarian, diabetic, culturally appropriate).
✅️ Maintain high standards of food hygiene, safety, and cleanliness in the kitchen.
✅️ Manage kitchen inventory, stock ordering, and budget control.
✅️ Work collaboratively with the clinical and care team to support residents’ nutritional needs and recovery goals.
✅️ Prepare meals with care, dignity, and respect for residents’ preferences and cultural backgrounds.
✅️ Follow all health, safety, and food safety regulations.
Essential Requirements:
📌 Proven experience as a Cook in a residential, hospital, aged care, or similar setting.
📌 Strong knowledge of nutrition, special diets, and healthy meal preparation.
📌 Current Food Safety / Food Handling Certificate.
📌 Reliable, punctual, and able to work early mornings or split shifts as required.
📌 Ability to work independently and as part of a supportive team.
📌 Compassionate and respectful approach towards people in recovery.
📌 Current First Aid certificate .
