🌿 Building from Local Knowledge in Urata Village and Nacekoro Village

The people of Urata Village and Nacekoro Village in Cakaudrove came together to identify the resources, livelihoods and seasonal changes shaping their community. Women, men and youth shared their experiences, ensuring that future support reflects their priorities and everyday realities.

By understanding how changes in the land, sea and climate affect household income and wellbeing, the community is helping shape practical solutions for stronger livelihoods and greater resilience.

We acknowledge the support of Australian Government Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade through the Australian NGO Cooperation Programme and Caritas Australia for the project in the North.

Celebrating 25 Years of FRIEND 💚

We are deeply grateful to the Honourable Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka for accepting our invitation and joining us as Chief Guest for this significant milestone.

We were also honoured by the presence of our founder, Honourable Sashi Kiran, along with our Board members and Trustees, whose leadership and commitment have helped shape FRIEND’s journey.

For 25 years, FRIEND Fiji’s journey has been one of resilience, partnership and an unwavering commitment to creating lasting change in communities across Fiji. This milestone celebrates not only how far we have come, but also the communities, partners, supporters and team members who have walked alongside us.

As we reflect on 25 years of impact, we look ahead with renewed purpose—continuing to empower communities and build a more resilient and inclusive Fiji.
