On the sidelines of the World Day Against Trafficking in Persons 2026, Maat for Peace association held a webinar titled "Lion Cubs: Child Recruitment as Cogs in the Wheel of Raging Conflicts."
As part of Maat Association's concern and commitment to monitoring and working to reduce the suffering of African children, aiming to foster in-depth African discussion on the escalating crisis of child recruitment in African conflict zones, and its complex human rights implications for children living through ongoing conflicts, and to highlight key African efforts to mitigate the crisis and support the protection and security of African children.
This webinar, which brought together a group of prominent human rights activists and seasoned experts on the issue of child recruitment and its negative human rights effects, focused on providing a deep understanding of the crisis within the framework of efforts to develop an updated vision for supporting and strengthening the security and protection of children African children within conflict environments.
