Announcement of a Partnership Between IFMSA-Egypt and NAQAAE
Strengthening Student Partnership in Medical Education
As part of the National General Assembly (NGA), hosted by Tanta University and the Faculty of Medicine, Tanta University, and in line with efforts to strengthen collaboration with Egyptian higher education institutions and promote students as active partners in advancing medical education, Prof. Dr. Mohamed Hussein, President of Tanta University, met with IFMSA-Egypt representatives at the university’s headquarters in Tanta. The meeting was attended by Prof. Dr. Mohamed Hantira, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Tanta University; Prof. Dr. Alaa Ashmawy, President of the National Authority for Quality Assurance and Accreditation of Education (NAQAAE); Prof. Dr. Thanaa Rady, Vice President of NAQAAE for Higher Education; alongside IFMSA-Egypt representatives Dr. Mostafa Bargout, President; Mr. Mohamed Ouri, Vice President; and Ms. Mariam Oraby, Medical Education Committee Officer.
The discussions focused on quality assurance and academic accreditation, the development of medical education programs and curricula, and aligning academic qualifications with the National Qualifications Framework (NQF) to meet local and international labor-market needs, while supporting educational and research development in line with international standards.
A cooperation protocol between NAQAAE and IFMSA-Egypt was also signed in the presence of representatives from the Authority, the University, and IFMSA-Egypt.
This partnership reflects IFMSA-Egypt’s commitment to recognizing students as essential partners, not merely beneficiaries, in developing medical education and shaping decisions that affect it, while promoting quality, meaningful student participation, and a more sustainable medical education system.

تعزيزًا للتعاون بين طلبة الطب والمؤسسات الأكاديمية ودعمًا لجودة التعليم الطبي
في إطار استضافة جامعة طنطا وكلية الطب بجامعة طنطا للجمعية العمومية الوطنية (NGA)، وضمن جهود تعزيز التعاون مع مؤسسات التعليم العالي المصرية، وتعزيز حضور الطلاب كشركاء فاعلين في تطوير التعليم الطبي، التقى الأستاذ الدكتور/ محمد حسين، رئيس جامعة طنطا، بممثلي IFMSA-Egypt بمقر الجامعة في محافظة طنطا. وجاء ذلك بحضور الأستاذ الدكتور/ محمد حنتيرة، عميد كلية طب جامعة طنطا، والأستاذ الدكتور/ علاء عشماوي، رئيس الهيئة القومية لضمان جودة التعليم والاعتماد، والأستاذة الدكتورة/ ثناء راضي، نائب رئيس الهيئة لشؤون التعليم العالي، إلى جانب ممثلي IFMSA-Egypt، الدكتور مصطفى برغوت، رئيس الاتحاد؛ والأستاذ محمد عوري، نائب رئيس الاتحاد؛ والأستاذة مريم عرابي، مسؤولة لجنة التعليم الطبي بالاتحاد.
وتناول اللقاء عددًا من الملفات المرتبطة بتطوير منظومة التعليم الطبي، وعلى رأسها ترسيخ ثقافة الجودة والاعتماد الأكاديمي، وتطوير البرامج والمناهج التعليمية، وتعزيز آليات مواءمة المؤهلات الدراسية مع الإطار الوطني للمؤهلات (NQF)، بما يواكب احتياجات سوق العمل محليًا ودوليًا، إلى جانب دعم مسارات التطوير التعليمي والبحثي وفقًا للمعايير الدولية.
كما تم توقيع بروتوكول تعاون مشترك بين الهيئة القومية لضمان جودة التعليم والاعتماد وIFMSA-Egypt، بحضور ممثلي الهيئة والجامعة والاتحاد.
ويجسد هذا التعاون إيمان IFMSA-Egypt بأن الطالب ليس مجرد مستفيد من العملية التعليمية، وإنما شريك أساسي في تطويرها وصناعة القرارات المتعلقة بها، بما يعزز المشاركة الطلابية، ويدعم نشر ثقافة الجودة، ويسهم في بناء منظومة تعليم طبي أكثر تطورًا واستدامة.
