atorce hogares en cuatro países, incluyendo uno en nuestra propia provincia de Puerto Plata en el Paraje Sabaneta de Cangrejos, Municipio de Sosua, el cual es llamado “Hogar Immanuel” Comunidades “Granito de Mostaza” (Mustard Seed Communities). Founded over 31 years ago, Mustard Seed Communities now cares for over 600 children in 14 communities, throughout Jamaica, Nicaragua, the Dominican Republic and Zimbabwe. MSC strives to meet the growing needs of the most vulnerable members of our society by improving the economic, social and spiritual conditions of the communities we serve. Our aim is to make a difference in the lives of children who were abandoned, children that have disabilities, children that suffer from HIV/AIDS, teens that are pregnant and alone, and others. Examples of the programs that serve these populations include: the Dare to Care program, providing homes, education and medical care for 100 orphans with HIV/AIDS; the Christ in the Garbage Ministry, in both Nicaragua and the Dominican Republic, which encompasses a feeding program, a sewing and baking center to teach life skills and a school; and sustainable living communities for children and young adults with physical and mental disabilities. As a non-profit organization, Mustard Seed Communities relies on the incredible support that we receive from our volunteers, friends, donors, missionaries and so many others. Mustard Seed operates under the principals of caring, sharing and training. Caring is a little understood resource. It is quite limitless and has the miraculous ability to increase in direct proportion to the extent to which it is expended. In addition, its infinite value lies in the almost magical effect of its sincere employment in every human situation. Every society and every community in our global village has within itself, reserves of CARING. Most do not recognize and few ever exploit these resources. The work of Mustard Seed Communities would not be possible without the incredible support from our dedicated network of donors. There are several ways that you can contribute to the efforts of Mustard Seed Communities. Whether you give your time, money, prayer, or donations of goods and services, we gratefully accept it all. Gifts in Kind
Very little — almost nothing — goes to waste at Mustard Seed Communities. When in kind items are received, great efforts are made to ensure that each and every item is put to use where it is needed most. The needs at Mustard Seed Communities Hogar Immanuel are constantly
changing; however we are always in need of diapers (Size 2,3,4,5,6 and Medium adult size diapers), food (powder milk, soy milk, Pediasure, Ensure, rice, beans, cooking oil) and household items (detergent and personal hygiene items) . Diapers remain one of our greatest needs; we are in need of diapers in all of our locations and in all sizes, from infant to adult. Diapers are costly, thus it is incredibly helpful when we receive them in kind. Please refer to our list of needs for further details. Every item received is one less item that we need to purchase, freeing up funds for medicines, food, to pay caregivers and the many other needs that cannot be donated in-kind.
