With ESN Siegen we try to make the best out of your semester abroad.

It is our aim to offer you an unforgettable time at the University of Siegen - following the principle 'students helping students'! Students living and studying in and around Siegen helping international students to get to know Siegen and have a time they will never forget. Our history:
- April 2016: start with Exchange Students Siegen ('ESSI')
- Winter term 2016: first support of exchange student

- November 2016: nomination as candidate section for the Erasmus Student Network (ESN)
- January 2017: election as offical section of the Erasmus Student Network (ESN)
- February 2017: establishment of the association Exchange Students Siegen, better known as Erasmus Student Network Siegen

🌊Swimming day at Biggesee🌊

Do you need a day off from studying for the exams? What better way to relax than spending a whole day at the lake? Join ESN Siegen for a fun day trip to the Biggesee for swimming, relaxing and enjoying the summer 🏊☀️!

Our program is simple: We take the train from Siegen to Sondern and spend the whole day at Biggesee. You can stay as long as you want 🙌!

Don’t forget to bring a swimsuit, towels, a blanket to sit on, sunscreen, outdoor games or anything else that can make this day a good time. It is recommended to bring your own food and drink. We will provide some refreshing ice cream to help you cool down. Do not forget your Deutschland ticket and a valid ID 🎫. Please note that pictures may be taken and published at this event!

As there is no lifeguard present, non-swimmers should not join this event unless planning to stay out of the water. ESN Siegen is not responsible for your safety while swimming⚠️. Otherwise, everyone is welcome to join!

🌍🍲 International Potluck & Quiz Night 🍲🌍

Ready to travel the world in just one evening? ✈️ Join us for our International Potluck & Quiz Night and celebrate all the different cultures and the diversity of our ESN community!

Want to experience a journey through nature, views, and history? 🌲
Come breathe in the fresh mountain air at the Hasenbahnhof near Siegen! 🏔️

Hasenbahnhof Ridge is a mountain trail with intersections and viewpoints located along the scenic forested ridges on the border between Siegen and Netphen (Siegerland) in Germany. It’s more than two thousand years old as a point on an old trade route, since trade paths in the Middle Ages tended to run along the hilltops because the valleys were often impassable and lacked bridges.

It’s a beginner-friendly hike 🥾, so no prior hiking experience is needed. Get ready for a refreshing day where you’ll:

- Walk through peaceful forests of tall beech and spruce trees 🌲

- Discover the hidden Zinsenbach-Quelle, a freshwater spring tucked in a quiet valley 💧

- Enjoy beautiful ridge views and sunny meadows full of ferns and wildflowers 🌼

- If the weather is nice, we’ll spend some relaxed time at the top — so feel free to bring snacks, drinks, and card games to make your day more fun.

Come connect with nature and be part of this refreshing adventure! 🍃

On 25 July 2026, we’ll join the CSD demonstration in Siegen together and walk with the Pride Parade to show our support for equality and celebrate the LGBTQIA+ community.
