Welcome to Rheinland-Pfalz

Welcome to Rheinland-Pfalz This state program provides useful information to make it easier for U.S. servicemembers to join in the public life & activities of their German community

In 2014, the Ministry of Interior Rheinland-Pfalz initiated the project “Welcome to Rheinland-Pfalz! Our Neighbors from the USA”, in which 37 communities near the military installations at Ramstein, Baumholder, and Spangdahlem are currently participating. The main purpose of the project is to create and enhance opportunities aiming at involving locally stationed US citizens in the public life of t

heir respective community. Both sides can thereby benefit from each other in this ‘win-win-situation’. Based on an improved preparation of and access to information about local and regional services, U.S. families are supported in the process of successful integration into their German community and raised identification with their community of residence. On the other side, the communities involved can gain from an even more positive and open German-American relationship in the communal life.
