❗️HALLOWEEN: METAL NAIL FOUND IN CANDY❗️
A dangerous discovery in a Halloween treat prompted police to respond to an incident in Mackenbach on Saturday evening. A nine-year-old boy found a metal nail inside a fruit gummy candy. Fortunately, the child was not injured.

The boy had been collecting Halloween candy when he later bit into the gummy and noticed a nail embedded inside. It remains unclear who placed the metal nail in the candy. The incident occurred between 6 and 7 p.m. Police are investigating the case on suspicion of attempted aggravated assault.

The Westpfalz Police Headquarters is warning parents to carefully inspect all Halloween candy collected by their children before allowing them to eat it. Particular attention should be paid to unwrapped candy and treats with damaged or unusual packaging. If anything suspicious is found, the candy should not be consumed.

Police are asking for information: Anyone who noticed anything suspicious in Mackenbach on Halloween evening or discovered tampered candy is asked to contact the police.

Mackenbach (Kreis Kaiserslautern) - Halloween: Metallnagel in Süßigkeit entdeckt

Ein gefährlicher Fund in einer Halloween-Süßigkeit hat am Samstagabend in Mackenbach die Polizei auf den Plan gerufen. Ein neunjähriger Junge entdeckte in eine Fruchtgummistange einen Metallnagel. Glücklicherweise blieb das Kind unverletzt.

Der Junge hatte anlässlich von Halloween Süßigkeiten gesammelt. Als er später in die Fruchtgummistange biss, bemerkte er einen darin steckenden Nagel. Wer den Metallnagel in der Süßigkeit platziert hat, ist bislang unbekannt. Die Tat ereignete sich zwischen 18 und 19 Uhr. Die Polizei ermittelt wegen des Verdachts der versuchten gefährlichen Körperverletzung.

Das Polizeipräsidium Westpfalz warnt: Eltern sollten die von ihren Kindern an Halloween gesammelten Süßigkeiten vor dem Verzehr sorgfältig kontrollieren. Insbesondere unverpackte Süßwaren oder solche mit beschädigter beziehungsweise auffälliger Verpackung sollten kritisch geprüft werden. Bei verdächtigen Feststellungen sollten die betreffenden Süßigkeiten nicht weiter verzehrt werden.

Die Polizei bittet um Hinweise: Wer am Halloweenabend in Mackenbach verdächtige Beobachtungen gemacht oder ebenfalls manipulierte Süßigkeiten entdeckt hat, wird gebeten, sich bei der Polizei zu melden.

What a fantastic evening with our German-American Stammtisch 🚒🇩🇪🇺🇸

A big THANK YOU to everyone who joined us tonight for our special visit to the Ramstein Fire Station yesterday. We had a wonderful group of 27 people, and it was such an interesting and enjoyable experience!
We started with a short presentation about the Ramstein Fire Department, learning about the important work of the volunteer firefighters, how the department operates, and what actually happens when someone calls 112.
Afterwards, we split into two groups, one German-speaking and one English-speaking, for a guided tour of the entire fire station. We got to explore different areas of the building, see the fire trucks up close, and learn about the facilities and the work of the firefighters. It was fascinating to get a behind-the-scenes look at something most of us rarely get to see!
We ended the evening with a dinner together at Restaurant Il Pirata, that was just next to the fire station.
A very special THANK YOU to the Ramstein Fire Department for welcoming the group, taking the time to explain everything, answering our many questions, and making this visit such a memorable experience. We look forward to our next special get-together in November! 😊

Ramstein Wendelinus Market and Sunday Shopping on Sunday, Oct. 25 🎉🥳

In honor of Saint Wendelinus the church parish of Ramstein celebrated the “Wendelinus Market” in 1710 for the first time. The patron saint answered the prayers of the locals and protected their livestock against epizootic diseases. The market was revived in 1986.

The event starts with the animal blessing inside the Oktoberfest tent at 11:30 a.m. Visitors can bring their pets along to have them blessed. Afterwards, the mayor officially opens the market with the tapping of the b**r keg. The brass band “GPS” entertains the people inside the party tent. Food and beverages are also offered there. Free entrance to the festival tent!

The market features about 50 exhibitors selling a large variety of goods such as gift and decoration items, woodwork, leatherwork, jewelry, child´s clothing, Solingen cutlery, scarves, and a lot more. A great choice of food and beverages is available all over the market. Live musical entertainment is also presented on the market square from 12 p.m.

Furthermore, stores open for Sunday shopping from 12 p.m. until 5 p.m. Market hours are from 12 a.m. to 6 p.m.

HAPPY GERMAN-AMERICAN DAY! 🇩🇪🇺🇸🥰
In 1987, Congress established October 6, as German-American Day. The date reminds us of October 6th, 1683, when 13 German families arrived near Philadelphia and founded Germantown. While this day was designated to honor the contributions of German immigrants to the development of America, it is also the perfect occasion to bring to mind the manifold connections between Germany and the U.S.

CONCERT IN LANDSTUHL ON 9 OCT. 👨‍🎤
“The Eagles Project” is counted among the outstanding tribute bands to the world-famous rock group “Eagles” and brings the legendary songs of these American rock icons to Landstuhl. Fans can experience hits like “Hotel California,” “Take It Easy,” “Lyin’ Eyes,”, “Desperado” and many others live at Landstuhl Stadthalle. With a total of ten musicians, “The Eagles Project” is one of the largest Eagles tribute bands in Germany in terms of lineup. A distinctive feature of the band is the expansion of the classic band sound. Besides vocal harmonies and guitar arrangements, trumpet and saxophone additionally create a multifaceted soundscape. The expanded instrumentation is inspired by the concerts presented by “Eagles” during their “Farewell Tour”. In addition to the band's greatest classics, the set list also includes selected solo songs by individual members of “Eagles”.
