MCN is a non-military non- profit organization providing free counseling service to those soldiers who are questioning going to war, want to know more about military discharges and regulations. The Military Counseling Network e.V./ The Clearing Barrel GI-Coffeehouse is providing free, confidential, and accurate information on US military regulations and practices to service members, veterans, pote
ntial recruits, and their families. Some of our counselors are veterans, some are lawyers and some have decades of military counseling experience. We are in constant contact with each other to stay up-to-date on the latest military regulations and practices. We provide resources and counseling options. Many of us are not lawyers and therefore cannot give legal advice, but, in cases in which an attorney might be useful, we may be able to help you find one. The Clearing Barrel GI coffeehouse opened 2012 in the center of Kaiserslautern, Germany, the centerpiece of U.S. military installations in Europe with the Ramstein Airbase and Landstuhl Medical Center. The Clearing Barrel is open for everyone. It’s a warm and beautiful place to relax and to enjoy a strong fair trade coffee, beer or a vegan meal. Meet with friendly people or browse our small library with books and information- materials. The coffeehouse also provides a safe, alternative space for soldiers, veterans and their families to socialize, learn about their rights in the military, receive counseling, engage one another in political discussions, and organize themselves to resist illegal wars and militarisation. The Clearing Barrel GI-Coffeehouse offers events, movies and concerts. The current program is available at our website. The coffeehouse is run by Meike Capps-Schubert, since 2003 active in the Military Counseling Network and volunteering members. The Military Counseling Network e.V works in cooperation with the GI-Rights-Hotline in the US. Opening Hours
