The Heidelberg International Women's Club is a new social, cultural and charitable club for English-speaking women in the Heidelberg and Rhine-Neckar Region of Germany. Our members are women of all ages and backgrounds who want to do something good for themselves and others. Through monthly, weekly and seasonal activities and events, the Heidelberg IWC provides a time and place for women to meet,

This month we will be in Mannheim visiting an authentic Uyghur Restaurant in the heart of Mannheim. Uyghur food combines influences from Turkey, Persia and the Middle east and that is what makes this cuisine so unique. The restaurant has a really high rating on google and cooks dishes fresh according to traditional recipes passed down from generations. Their Lagman noodles are particularly well-known. These are hand-pulled noodles freshly prepared and served with meat, veggies and spicy sauces.

This month it is high summer and we will be in Heidelberg visiting Biergarten Restaurant Wolfsbrunnen - where we will be able to enjoy delicious food and drinks in the middle of nature! The restaurant is situated next to a historical fountain and should be lovely in the warm weather.

At our June monthly meeting, we visited the Climate Change Garden, an innovative space created by the University of Heidelberg and located atop the parking garage on Voßstraße in Bergheim. It was fascinating to explore the garden and learn more about the ideas and concepts behind it.

Although the evening didn’t go entirely as planned due to the weather, it was a great reminder that good company can turn any outing into a memorable experience. 🌿☔️✨

For the third year in a row, we are incredibly grateful to organize our first Heart Pillow Bash of the year together with the students of Schiller International University in Bahnstadt. 💖

Seven members of our club joined the event, alongside 8–10 students, many of whom were participating for the very first time. Their enthusiasm and willingness to contribute made the day especially rewarding.

We would also like to extend our sincere thanks to Schiller International University Heidelberg Campus for once again generously providing the venue. In addition to hosting us, the university kindly supplied drinks and snacks for all participants and even made parking spaces available in their garage, helping to create a comfortable and enjoyable experience for everyone. 🙏

Together, we completed 90 heart pillows and cut and sewed several more that will be finished soon. It was wonderful to see everyone working side by side—sharing skills, conversation, and laughter while contributing to such a meaningful cause.

Let’s Sew Some Love! 💖

After donating all the heart pillows we made last year, it’s time to come together and create even more in 2026! We’re teaming up again for the 3rd time with students at Schiller University Campus in Bahnstadt for a fun, hands-on sewing session—cutting, stitching, stuffing, and finishing these special pillows.
No sewing skills? No problem! Everyone is welcome, whether you’re a sewing whiz or just eager to help. Together, we’ll make as many heart pillows as possible to donate to NCT Heidelberg.
