“To experience different approaches, methods, and values in working on de-radicalization and non-violence with youth inspired me reflect on my own context and clarify which approaches I want to strengthen. At the same time, I became more aware of how perspectives on topics like (de-)colonization differ depending on the experiences we come from - and how important it is to work with this in de-radicalization.” (Participant)

🌍 From 6th – 12th February 2026, 24 youth workers from 9 countries came together in Berlin for the second stage of “Bridges Not Walls: Empowering Youth Workers in Non-Violence and De-Radicalization.”

✨ Through city tours on de-colonization in Berlin, creative workshops on the concepts of Paolo Freire and meetings with different organisations in Berlin, participants deepened their understanding of different approaches on non-violence, dialogue, and radicalization prevention work and explored how to translate these into their daily youth work practice.

🤝 Thank you to the EU, all partners and speakers, trainers, and participants for making this journey possible.

Funded by the European Union within the Erasmus+ Programme and implemented by act for transformation together with Act for Transformation's Caucasus Office and partners.

🌍 another Fairtogether workshop took place in Giengen, organised and facilitated by trained Fairtogether multipliers from the Osttalb Kreis region, who completed the Training of Multipliers in Aalen this Autumn.
🤝 The workshop brought together young people from diverse backgrounds from Ostalbkreis. The focus of this workshop was on addressing everyday social challenges that threaten peaceful coexistence.
Over the two days, participants worked intensively on the following key topics:
✊ Civil courage and standing up against everyday injustices
🌍 Discrimination, racism, and inclusion in daily life
🕊 Peaceful coexistence and respectful ways of living together

Through interactive methods, group discussions, role-plays, and reflection circles, participants explored how to react when facing or witnessing injustice, how to support others, and how to create inclusive and respectful spaces in their communities. Many shared personal experiences and reflected on how courage, empathy, and solidarity can be practised in real-life situations ✨.

The workshop created a safe and supportive space for open exchange, mutual learning, and connection. Participants strengthened their confidence, deepened their understanding of inclusion, and reflected on their own roles in promoting non-violence and peaceful coexistence 🌿.

On December 18th, we had the honor of hosting an inspiring meeting in Berlin with a policy maker, joined by a retired EU diplomat and former German Ambassador who has served in several countries. The exchange offered valuable insights into diplomacy, policy-making, and the importance of international cooperation in shaping inclusive societies.

Participants of the meeting were young people from Berlin and Brandenburg with diverse backgrounds, including students, young multipliers, and other engaged youth. They had the opportunity to ask questions, share their perspectives, and gain inspiration from the guest’s rich experience.🤝.

🇪🇺This meeting was implemented within the framework of our Erasmus+ youth participation project “Fairtogether: Experiencing and Shaping Diversity Together”, with the financial support of the European Union.
