Another month, another step towards cleaner rivers. 🌍

By May 2026, everwave has removed over 2,634,619 million kilograms of waste in total from rivers and waterways around the world.

Our cleanup systems are currently operating at 5 locations across Europe and Asia, helping to prevent plastic and other waste from entering the ocean.

However, our impact goes beyond the waste we collect. Our growing team of 87 people is creating local jobs and supporting communities through long-term environmental action.

Together with our partners, we continue to expand our mission and increase our measurable impact every month.

Do you think plastic pollution begins in the ocean and should therefore be tackled there?

It doesn't.

By the time it gets there, the problem has grown much bigger and become harder to solve, not to mention more expensive.
This is why river cleanups are so important, such as the work of our collection boat in Cambodia, which intercepts waste before it can travel further downstream. Under ideal conditions, our boat can collect up to 20 tonnes of waste from the river directly per day.

This has a positive impact on more than just the appearance of the waterway. It also reduces pressure on marine ecosystems, protects local communities living alongside polluted rivers and creates a measurable environmental impact in areas where intervention is still possible.
This requires infrastructure that works every single day in changing conditions and on a large scale, targeting pollution hotspots directly.

Real impact is not created through symbolic action, but through our work.

We’re proud to announce that everwave has taken over operations in Sihanoukville, further building on the strong foundation laid by tontoton.

By continuing and scaling these activities, we ensure that waste collection and processing remain stable and grow where it's needed most. For our partners, this means continuity, reliability, and scalable impact.

We are on a mission - from north to south. 🤫

This week, everwave will be attending two of the largest events in Germany: IFAT worldwide in Munich and OMR in Hamburg.

Two cities, two events, one shared goal: to stop plastic pollution before it reaches our oceans!

While Clemens will be in Munich at IFAT, Maike and Gülsen will be in Hamburg at OMR, connecting with people and exchanging ideas in order to create real, scalable environmental impact. Pshhh.. Marketeers, be aware! EmpCo is coming, so be prepared for your claims to be challenged.

This is what World Earth Day looks like off-screen. Behind every campaign is a team in the river.

April is always a big month for us, especially with our campaign, where you can collect 1 kg of waste by liking our partners' posts. However, we never skip our on-site work.

In Albania, our team has been working tirelessly at our cleanup sites, collecting tons of waste and continuing to fight for cleaner rivers. Even during major marketing events, we never forget where our impact is most needed, nor do we cut back on cleanups.

Campaigns raise awareness, but it is the daily physical work on the ground that transforms digital actions into reality. Every piece of waste we remove means less pollution flowing into the ocean. Every day our team shows up brings us one step closer to restoring these ecosystems.

We are grateful for all those who support our mission to clean waterways and create a waste-free environment.
