What does the Curaçao we want to see in 2040 look like, and how do we get there without losing who we are?
During the visit of the JCI World President to Curaçao, a select group of young Curaçaoans came together for an inspiring conversation about leadership, teamwork, talent and identity.
From lessons learned through swimming, Scouting and JCI, to experiences working on projects with children in detention in Bolivia, the World President shared an important lesson: strong teams are not built by finding people who are all alike, but by bringing together people whose skills and strengths complement each other.
That lesson became particularly relevant as we imagined Curaçao in 2040: modern, internationally competitive and full of opportunity, but still unmistakably Curaçaoan.
The conversation moved from modernization to local talent, education and skills development, and ultimately to an even bigger question:
How do we prepare Curaçaoans to compete anywhere in the world, while preserving the identity that makes us who we are?
A conversation with a new generation thinking seriously about the Curaçao they want to build.
