Today we celebrate 10 years of incredible collaboration
10 years of standing together in the fight against crime and responding to emergencies when it matters most.

CCIN OCC WEST was founded in 2016 by the Director of BCI SECURITY, Corinda Loots, originally known as the Wesrand Security Group. What started as a vision to bring role players together quickly grew into something far greater.

After joining the CCIN network, Corinda’s dedication and active involvement led to her becoming an EXCO member. Together with Dr. Mikail Reza Patel, Founder of CCIN, a decision was made to structure the network into dedicated regions North, South, East, and West.

And from that vision… CCIN OCC WEST was born.

Today, CCIN proudly operates with 29 OCCs nationwide, strengthening coordination, communication, and rapid response across the country.

This group stands today as a powerful, vetted network of law enforcement, emergency services, community structures, and security companies all working together with one goal:

To protect. To respond. To save lives.

ARMED ROBBERY INCIDENT

A Criminal Syndicate consisting of +- x10 Armed Suspects gained entry to a Retail Business in Fourways.

The suspects proceeded to hold staff and patrons at gunpoint, seizing personal belongings and loading bulk stock into two getaway vehicles

24/7 received a duress signal, prompting a coordinated multi-unit response.

24/7 intercepted first with SAPS.

Security K9 Unit Acted fast to intercept the Suspects’ getaway vehicles as they attempted to exit the premises.

During the exchange, 24/7 - SAPS & TRK9 UNIT successfully subdued the armed individuals, resulting in the immediate apprehension of three suspects.

TRK9 DOG UNIT managed to Sweap the Field whereby The K9 Unit by Tracking the clothing of the Suspectd discovered the Weapons.

No Injuries of Any Public.

The following items were secured on scene:

- x2 Unlicensed fi****ms found in the possession of the suspects
- x3 Weapons
- located in different locations / Field by K9 Unit
- Clothing were also discovered in various other locations
- Two vehicles used in the commission of the crime

The full consignment of stolen merchandise was successfully recovered.

The scene has been handed over to Douglasdale SAPS for further forensic investigation.

ALL involved are working closely with the relevant authorities to ensure that all evidence is properly processed.

An IFP councillor in Mtubatuba Local Municipality has survived a shooting after being wounded around midnight on the N2 between Mtubatuba and Mfekayi in northern KZN.

Ex-Convict Shot Dead At Tavern: Amaoti – KZN

A 41-year-old man, who was released from prison last month following a conviction for robbery, was shot and killed outside at a tavern in Amaoti – KZN.

Members of Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) were called out to the scene at approximately 21:14 following reports of a shooting.

On arrival, Reaction Officers found that the victim had sustained multiple gunshot wounds & was declared deceased at the scene.

His sister confirmed his identity. The motive for the murder was not immediately established.

Multiple spent 9mm cartridges were recovered at the scene.

The motive is unclear.

TWO SAPS MEMBERS AMONG EIGHT BUSTED IN BEDFORDVIEW ROBBERY

Bedfordview was rocked on Sunday after police swooped in and arrested eight suspects linked to a brazen business robbery — including TWO serving SAPS members!

The suspects were allegedly caught red-handed loading stolen stock from a storage facility before making a run for it in a Toyota one-ton truck and two VW Polo cars.

But their escape didn’t last long. In a dramatic chase involving Gauteng’s Tactical Response Team, Traffic Police, and the Air Wing, the group was intercepted in Zandspruit, Honeydew.

In a shocking twist, two of the arrested suspects are police officers based in Florida. SAPS bosses have slammed the alleged betrayal, saying corrupt cops damage the integrity of the force.

All eight suspects are expected to appear in court soon on charges of business robbery and possession of stolen goods.

Investigations are ongoing.

2. 🚨 *COMMUNITY SAFETY NOTICE: GANG TARGETING COMPLEXES/VEHICLE THEFT*

Gauteng Provincial JOC has noted a concerning pattern of incidents over recent weeks involving a group of suspects targeting residential complexes.

In these incidents, suspects deliberately distract on-site security personnel before overpowering and restraining them. Thereafter, multiple vehicles – most notably VW Polo models (photo is just a sample) – are stolen from within the premises. In some cases, security guards have been forcibly removed from the scene and later released in distant areas. There has also been at least one report of a resident being robbed after unknowingly encountering the suspects during the incident.
Reports have been received from various areas across Gauteng, indicating that this group is mobile and not confined to a specific location. Most incidents are occurring during night-time hours.

• Security providers are urged to heighten vigilance, particularly during night shifts
• Consider reinforcement of guard presence and supervision
• Ensure strict access control and verification protocols
• Monitor for unusual behaviour or coordinated distractions at entry points
• Residents should remain alert and report any suspicious activity immediately

Law enforcement agencies are aware of these incidents and are actively working to identify and apprehend those responsible.

3 Suspects arrested for house break-ins / estate break-ins in and around the South of JHB.
Glenvista.

Fox Tactical units together with 1Track Africa and Night Guard security were tracking suspects wanted for estate break-ins.

Information was received that the suspects were headed home, Fox tactical members together with Moroka SAPS tracked down goods that were taken in an estate in the Greenstone area early hours of the morning. Wich let us straight to their house.

The suspects were spotted in the vehicle that was used to do the break-in.

When they spotted us they tried to get away but could not get away from our officers.

The vehicle was stopped and the stolen goods were found in the vehicle aswell as in their house.

Approximately R200 000 worth of goods were recovered wich included laptops, watches and clothes.

Murder of
Braam Kruger: suspects arrested.

Four suspects have been arrested in connection with the murder of a well-known emergency response figure killed at a guesthouse in Brooklyn on 2 April 2026.

A coordinated multi-agency operation tracked the group from Gauteng to KwaZulu-Natal and back, leading to a tactical raid in Protea Glen, Soweto, in the early hours of this morning.

The suspects were positively identified.

Investigators seized cellphones, bank cards and clothing believed to be linked to the crime, with all evidence booked at Brooklyn SAPS.

A manhunt remains underway for a fifth suspect.
