The Windsor and District Labour Council’s Gary L Parent Activist Awards reception will be held on Friday, June 19, 2026, at the Fogolar Furlan.
The awards recognize the efforts of those activists within the labour community who have toiled away in a variety of ways and areas of interest, in an attempt to make our community a better one. Their efforts are far too often unrecognized, as they frequently work anonymously behind the scenes. These awards are designed to shine a light on those activists.
We look forward to receiving a large number of nominations, as well as a good turnout at the awards reception.
If you know of any activists worthy of recognition, either within your local or within the labour community, and whose local is affiliated with the Windsor and District Labour Council, do not hesitate to nominate them. The WDLC Executive will also select the recipient of the Community Partner Award each year.
The Community Partner award is intended to recognize a community organization that is not a WDLC affiliate but has a relationship with the WDLC and that, through its actions, has supported the goals and values of the WDLC. The organization may be represented by the work of an individual within that organization.
The deadline for submission is Friday, May 15, 4:00 pm
