Proud moment for Unifor Local 240 at the 2026 Unifor Canadian Council! Local 240 Canadian Council Delegates went to the mic and brought forward a resolution encouraging Unifor Locals and employers to consider unionized benefit providers and providers that employ Unifor members, including GreenShield.

The resolution was concurred with by the National Resolutions Committee and passed by Canadian Council.

Most importantly, this means Unifor bargaining committees are encouraged to bring GreenShield and other unionized benefit providers to the bargaining table during negotiations when discussing employee benefits.

Union supporting union. Protecting and growing good union jobs. 🇨🇦

Unifor Local 240 is proudly represented at the 2026 Unifor Canadian Council, in Ottawa by delegates Jodi Nesbitt, Taylor Francis-Grant, Christina Grossi, Tammy Dunford and Lindsey Atherton.

Canadian Council brings Locals from across the country together to discuss the issues impacting our members and help shape Unifor’s priorities, including the next National Bargaining Program.

With tariffs and economic uncertainty putting pressure on Canadian jobs, it’s important that Local 240 has a voice in the conversation. Our delegates bring our members’ perspectives forward, bring forward resolutions, while returning home with new ideas, information and strategies to strengthen representation across our Local.

Local 240 was proud to sponsor and participate in this year’s GreenShield Charity Golf Tournament. 💚

All funds raised from the tournament will be donated directly to the 4 West Oncology Unit at Metropolitan Hospital, where Executive Board member Alexia Zak received treatment. These funds will help the unit purchase essential patient care items and equipment.

It was a beautiful day of golf, community and giving back.
