“We believe negotiating with Ford is the best option to reach an agreement to be carried across the Detroit Three,” says Unifor Ford Master Bargaining Chair John D’Agnolo. “Our goal is to reach a deal that raises conditions across the auto industry, while protecting good jobs.”

“None of the distractions created by tariffs, by Trump, or the economy will lower the standards this agreement must meet.”

Happy Pride Season!

As we celebrate diversity, inclusion, and the ongoing fight for 2SLGBTQIA+ rights, the Ontario Regional Council (ORC) 2SLGBTQIA+ Standing Committee will be participating in several community Pride events across Ontario this summer.

We encourage everyone to show up in solidarity and support our 2SLGBTQIA+ communities.

🧡 Celebrate Indigenous History Month 🧡

We encourage all to attend the Indigenous History Month Celebration & Competition Powwow on June 26, 2026 at Charles Clark Square (215 Chatham St. E., Windsor) from 12:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.

Indigenous History Month is an opportunity to learn, reflect, and celebrate the rich cultures, traditions, and contributions of First Nations, Inuit, and Métis peoples.

Everyone is welcomed! Bring your family, support local Indigenous communities, and enjoy a day filled with culture and connection.

Unifor Local 240 Executive Board delegates Amna Elguraish and Taylor Francis-Grant attended the Unifor Black, Indigenous and Workers of Colour (BIWOC) Conference this weekend.

This important gathering brings together activists from across the country to learn, share experiences, build solidarity, and strengthen our collective commitment to equity, inclusion, and social justice. Through participation in these discussions & workshops, Amna and Taylor gained valuable knowledge, tools, and perspectives that they can bring back to the Local and membership.

Local 240 was proud to hold a 2 day pilot course; Planning for Retirement. It was a great success. 👏

We had 28 participants who attended Friday and Saturday to explore and prepare for their retirement. We encourage people with PEL funds to consider attending the full five-day course held in Port Elgin. For those who didn’t have access to PEL funds, we were happy to be able to offer this education.

Brother Dave Crosswell stopped by to share his experience in retirement and encouraged members to embrace this opportunity.

We also had guest speakers from Service Canada that provided us with a great deal of knowledge about CPP, Guaranteed Income Supplement & OAS and how to navigate their website to explore more information. We had Wealth Adviser, Joe Balsamo from Motor City Community Credit Union who shared important financial information with participants.

Thank you to Erin Harrison, Director of Retired Workers & National Strike & Defence for agreeing to pilot the class alongside President, Jodi Nesbitt.

🏳️‍🌈 Pride is about visibility, solidarity, and standing together. 🏳️‍⚧️ This weekend, members of Unifor Local 240 attended the Pride event hosted by Unifor Local 444 alongside Joanna Johnson. Thank you to the Local 240 members who took the initiative to attend and show their support for the 2SLGBTQIA+ community.

Events like these are an important reminder that our union is strongest when every member feels respected, valued, and included. Pride is not only a celebration of diversity, but also a commitment to building workplaces and communities where everyone can be their authentic selves.
