Today, one of our special people, board member, one of our best friends, Courtney Closen got married! Congrats Courtney and Marc!!!

We unfortunately couldn’t be there to share her big day, as they were married in Vegas and it just wasn’t in the cards for us to be there.

Many of you have been wondering what we were going to call our new mare from auction.

So we figured, in honour of Courtney and Marc’s wedding day, we would call her “Vegas”!!!

Vet visit today. No baby!!! Yay! But, she’s got some fluid built up in her stomach. She does need a dental but not immediately and we’d like her to gain some weight first.

And internal and external ultrasound were done to confirm the fluid. Blood was drawn and hopefully we will know soon what’s going on.

In the meantime, we are treating her heaves with Dex and Venti. In a week, we will re-evaluate.

But she is feeling much better and grazing with the others.

Our pretty girl has her vet visit tomorrow. She’s been on Venti twice a day and dex but so far not helping a ton. We will know more tomorrow. Fingers crossed for good news!

She’s a sweetheart. There were a couple of children that she saw last night and when they walked away, she nickered at them 🥺 it’s probably the only type of person that hasn’t failed her in her life.

We have to give a huge thank you to Beth and her family. We may supply the feed etc, but it’s her and her family that takes the time and feeds both the new girl and Shooter and look how great Shooter looks! It’s an amazing transformation!

PS we will let you know her name next week, it’s a surprise!

Well, our lastest auction horse got delivered yesterday (thank you Rebecca for dropping her off). She’s worse off than the original photos look.

Her heaves are really bad (she’s been started on Venti), and she is beyond skinny. Vet will come out this week (just waiting for them to open to make the appt). We’ve started her ona slow refeed program yesterday (along with venti). She had a foal and was just weaned, so we will also get her preg checked, just in case she was with a stud again.

She is the sweetest girl and hopefully we can bring her around. Poor girl gave everything she had and then some to her foal. She is registered (we of course didn’t get the papers), and is broke to ride.

Please keep her in your thoughts.

Well, we got her! Sometimes things are just meant to happen. Because we weren’t there today, I was bidding on my phone, and service where we were is sketchy at the best of time.

We were on our way back from our train robbery, and the numbers were jumping around a little bit, and all of a sudden, just as her number popped up, my service turned crappy. And the little circle just kept spinning. So Kim and I were both in panic mode. I drove up a few hundred feet was able to get service, and bid on her and won!

Started driving again, and our service turned sketchy again, so it was meant to be.

We will be picking her up on Monday, and will let her get settled and get the vet out to check her heaves etc

If anyone is at auction today and feels comfortable, checking a horse for us. This is one of the reasons why we prefer to go, so we can assess the horses that are in the pen. We would be looking to see if the mare picks up her feet, and if you’re able to gauge age by their teeth. We have been informed of Horse number.684
