Fixing Feral Felines

Meet the amazing Bentley Wood

This morning I said that young people are stepping up to help animals. I have the pleasure to work with some of them to offer information, suggestions and other support.

One wonderful person I have been helping is Bentley Wood.

She was driving down a street in Winnipeg and noticed an unusual number of cats.. many alive, some killed on the road.

She jumped into action even though she lived across the city. Soon she has captured 6 cats and took them home

Because of the situation, WHS had been called and she was not allowed to take anymore.

She and her partner already had cats, so they made them a warm cosy home in a shed until they are ready for new homes.

They have been vetted and they are being well cared for.

All of this takes money, so Fixing Feral Felines has assembled a prize package to encourage donations.

For every $5 donated, your name will be entered in a draw to win this package .. suitable for fun at home or to take the whole family on the road.

Pictures and description below.

Donation of any size can be sent to Fixing Feral Felines
[email protected] and identified for Bentley Wood

Or directly to Bentley at
[email protected]

Draw will take place on November Sunday Nov 22.

Thank you Bentley and partner for you kindness and compassion and for putting both into action.

The prize package contains all of these items.

GREAT NEWS..
The message is being heeded.

The younger people are stepping up to spay and neuter. Fixing Feral Felines is with with a number of small groups in Winnipeg and rural area needing to TNR

Unfortunately, they are facing a hugh challenge. WHERE DO THEY GET THE SPAY AND NEUTER DONE AND AT A REDUCED COST.

I am asked this question every day by groups and individuals. The demand is high ..the supply is very limited.

I am asking any group or otganization that coordinates reduced cost clinics to let me know if you can accommodate some of the free-roaming-free-breeding cats.

If you have extra spaces or cancellations please let me know so we can reduce breeding one cat at a time.

I hope everyone has had a great week and finding lots to be thankful for. I know I am.

But at the same time you have to be cautious and know that the world is full of strange things and fake news

This week I read 3 stories of different people who wanted to leave right away but waited until their last day of work before trying to book their flight for their vacation.

Do you believe someone would do that and yet 3 people did? Are you surprised? What do you think their chances of getting on a plane right away were? What would you say to them if you were a travel agent? What would you do for them?

Now what if I told you that this was fake news?

What if I told you that I read 3 stories from people who said they have been feeding a cat for over a year and are now wondering if they should get it neutered and find it a home" becasue its getting colder". Of course they expect it all to happen quickly.

As someone who spend 24/7/365 helping stray cats, I hate those 4 words " because its getting colder".

There is never an explanation as to why they delayed for more than a year. I have a difficult time believing that there is a justifable reason, except in unusual circumstances.

How many kittens can a female have in a year? How many kittens can a male sire in a year?
How many fights/injuries does a male have in a year?

Do people not consider that they have reduced their chances of finding a home when so many other people are wanting the same thing?

Who else finds this unacceptable and maybe even cruel?
