June 21 is National Indigenous Peoples Day.

A day to celebrate rich cultures and traditions.
A day to recognize invaluable contributions.
A day to honour the rights, experiences, and voices of Indigenous Peoples.

We acknowledge the strength, resilience, and knowledge that Indigenous communities have carried for generations and continue to share today.

Real Talk | The FORGE

Today, we’re opening up an honest conversation about recovery.

Travis Shupe, Recovery Coach and Site Manager of The FORGE, sat down with us to share his personal journey and what led him to join the team. Travis brings 34 years of experience in construction as a carpenter and foreman, and is now focused on helping others in the ways he once needed during his own recovery.

At The FORGE, we’re determined to help tradespeople find community, connection, and a safe space to get real about the struggles they’re facing.

If you believe in this vision, we’re asking for your support to open our doors.

Every donation helps transform this dream into reality:

Every Red Seal journey comes with challenges, and having the right support can make all the difference.

The Coast Capital Road to Red Seal program is breaking down barriers and helping apprentices achieve certification. It's a privilege to witness people persevere, grow, and achieve the goals they've worked so hard for.

What does The FORGE symbol mean to you? For men's mental health advocate Chris Cook, it means hope.

That's why we're building The FORGE: to create a place where hope can take root, recovery can begin, and no one has to face their challenges alone.

This Men's Health Month, we're calling on our community to help bring that vision to life. Every donation helps break down barriers and create a space where people can access the support they need.

Help us build a space for hope ↴

We spent three days in the Comox Valley exploring hands-on skills with students from across the district.

Alongside René, the students worked with sheet metal while learning about careers in the skilled trades. Over the course of the event, hundreds of young people cycled through activities led by local organizations and industry professionals. From forestry to first aid, each individual was encouraged to try something new and discover what sparks their interest.

We loved our time in Comox and felt genuinely welcomed wherever we went.

Thank you to Lisa Hallstrom, Dawn Anderson, and Tammy Williamson from Comox Valley Schools for including CFBC in this experience.
