’Twas the night before golf, and all through the Ridge,

Golfers were practicing… or drinking a few from the fridge. 🍻

The prizes are ready, the carts are lined up,
The coolers are chilling, to fill up your cup.

Some came to win.
Some came for fun.
Some haven’t swung a club since 2001. 😂

But tomorrow, WE GOLF. 🏌️‍♂️⛳️

Get some sleep, hydrate, find your golf shoes, and prepare yourselves for a full day of questionable decisions, suspicious scorecards, lost balls, big laughs, and raising money for outdoor recreation in Tumbler Ridge. 🙌

⚠️ COMMUNITY NOTICE | INCREASED INDUSTRIAL TRAFFIC ⚠️

TRORA would like to make recreation users and community members aware of increased heavy truck traffic along several roads used to access our local recreation areas and trail systems.

NexCo, a Saulteau First Nations and McLeod Lake Indian Band company, and Conuma have begun hauling legacy coal from the Trend-Roman Mine to the Quintette Mine.

The haul began Friday, August 14 and is expected to continue for approximately one month, with up to approximately 30 truckloads per day.

🚛 Routes impacted include:

- Talisman Road
- Narrows Bypass Road
- Core Lodge Road
- Bypass Road
- Kinuseo Falls Road
- Quintette Mine Road

These roads provide access to a number of areas used by hikers, bikers, OHV users, campers, hunters and other outdoor recreation users, so please be prepared for increased industrial traffic when heading out.

⚠️ TRORA asks all recreation users to use extra caution, remain alert for heavy trucks, give industrial traffic plenty of space, and plan accordingly when travelling these routes over the next month.

NexCo and Conuma have advised that safe and respectful ex*****on of the haul is a priority and that they are working to minimize impacts to other road users and the community.

Concerns regarding the safe and respectful operation of the coal haul can be directed to the Quintette Security Gate at 250-242-7121.

Please help us spread the word by sharing this notice with anyone recreating in these areas.

We’re excited to be out supporting the Emperor’s Challenge this weekend! Keep an eye out for the TRORA crew helping with the Kids Race and finish line support. 🙌

We’re incredibly proud to support Wolverine Nordic & Mountain Society (WNMS), one of our TRORA partner clubs, as they deliver one of Tumbler Ridge’s biggest and most iconic outdoor recreation events.

This is what TRORA is all about — our clubs supporting each other, sharing resources, and working together to make outdoor recreation happen in our community. 💚
