Wolverine Nordic and Mountain Society The WNMS is made up entirely of volunteers, and has been registered as a non-profit Society in BC since 1994.

Our mission is to promote and develop all aspects of people-powered outdoor recreation in the Tumbler Ridge area.

Help WNMS keep the iconic Bootski Lake Trail safe and clear! Join us for a day of trail maintenance, brushing, and deadfall removal.
πŸ“… When: August 1st at 8:00 AM
πŸ“ Meet At: Tumbler Ridge Visitor Centre (to caravan/carpool)
πŸš— Trailhead Directions:
Head southeast from Tumbler Ridge on Highway 52 E for ~48 km.
Turn right onto the gravel Ojay Main Road (Wapiti Road).
Drive 25 km, then take the right fork onto Wapiti FSR.
Cross the Wapiti River bridge and pull off near the 12.1 km mark (where the road is deactivated).
High-clearance vehicles are recommended. We will use two-way radio channel RR1 (150.080 MHz) for logging truck traffic.

What to bring: Sturdy boots, work gloves, water, and safety gear. Bring loppers or hand saws if you have them (WNMS will also provide tools).

A massive THANK YOU to the incredible crew of volunteers who came out for our recent work bee! We had an ambitious to-do list, and thanks to your hard work, Windfall Lake looks absolutely fantastic again. πŸ› οΈβœ¨
We tackled a huge amount of trail maintenance, including:
πŸ”Ή Fixing critical drainage issues to keep the trail dry
πŸ”Ή Cutting deadfall to clear the paths πŸͺ“
πŸ”Ή Fixing the wash table and replacing the bucket
πŸ”Ή Brush cutting the parking area right down to the trail head
πŸ”Ή Adding blocks to bridge the muddy sections
πŸ”Ή Repairing and levelling the tent pads β›Ί
πŸ₯ͺ A very special shout-out goes to Adaly Molina for keeping the crew fueled up with an amazing lunch! You kept everyone going!

The Wolverine Nordic and Mountain Society (WNMS) needs your help to spruce up the beautiful Windfall Lake trail! Come out for a day of fresh air, trail maintenance, and community spirit.
πŸ“… Date: Saturday, July 4, 2026
⏰ Time: 9:00 AM at the TR Visitor Center to carpool
πŸ” Free lunch provided for everyone who RSVPs!
What we're tackling:
Removing deadfall along the paths
Repairing campsite tent pads
Replacing trail signs
Fixing drainage issues
πŸ—ΊοΈ Directions:
Drive towards Chetwynd on Hwy 29 (25 km) ➑️ Left onto Bullmoose Rd (17 km) ➑️ Left onto Windfall Creek FSR (24 km) ➑️ Left onto Pinnacle Peak & Windfall Lake access rd (1.8 km) to the trailhead.
⚠️ FSR Safety Reminder:
These are active industrial roads! Loaded logging trucks have the right-of-way. Drive with headlights on, use a VHF radio if you have one, use pullouts, and ensure your vehicle has good clearance.
πŸŽ’ What to bring: Work gloves, sturdy boots, water, and gear for the weather.
