Lithium-ion batteries can be dangerous if they are damaged or not used properly.

If your E-Device battery smells, leaks, changes shape, gets too hot, or makes noise, stop using it right away. Unplug the device from the wall if it is safe to do so.

If a battery starts smoking or sparking, call 9-1-1 immediately.

Do not try to repair or modify the battery. Never use a refurbished battery. Use only batteries from the original manufacturer.

Today is Zero Emissions Day, reminding us that small choices can make a big difference.

At Toronto Community Housing offices, we sort waste properly and use energy-efficient LED lighting to help reduce waste and energy use.

We can all take action at home, too. Turn down the heat and bundle up. Walk, bike, or take transit when you can. Sort your waste properly and turn off lights when they are not needed.

Every choice counts. Let’s work together to make a difference.
