☀️ Looking for something fun to do tomorrow?

Tomorrow from 12–4pm, Councillor Josh Matlow will be hosting a Community Festival in Cedarvale Park. It looks like a great opportunity to enjoy the weather, connect with neighbours, and spend some time in the park.

There will be free ice cream (while supplies last 🍦), raffle prizes, and interactive community booths.

It’s also a great chance to speak directly with the Councillor and City staff about many of the important initiatives currently happening in our neighbourhood, including:

• Cedarvale Park Improvement Project
• Allen & Eglinton Intersection Study
• Neighbourhood traffic pattern changes
• Laneway Improvement Project
• Other local planning and infrastructure initiatives

🌿 Exciting changes are coming to the neighbourhood!

The Cedarvale Upper Village Community Group (CUVCG) has been working closely with partners (City of Toronto, Josh Matlow, Upper Village Toronto) to move forward TWO meaningful projects in our neighbourhood:

1. A laneway transformation project between Glen Cedar & Menin
✔️ Safer, greener, and more beautiful with new mural, planting,
and retaining wall.

2. A new playground enhancement at Cedarvale Park
✔️ Community consultation launching now!

This is what happens when a community comes together and pushes for better.

We’re proud of the progress — and there’s more to come.

🚧 Allen & Eglinton Update – And Why This Matters 🚧

On April 7th, Toronto’s Infrastructure & Environment Committee considered IE28.2 - Redesign Study of the Intersection of Eglinton Avenue West and the Allen Road Expressway. The report now heads to City Council on April 22nd. Click below to read the report.

You can watch a recording of IEC meeting via link below. The discussion of the Eg/Allen report begins around 4:25. https://www.youtube.com/live/_NPQlEy25b4

👉 The City has officially acknowledged what our community has been saying for years — this intersection is not working! And it’s now confirmed in a City report!

The Cedarvale & Upper Village Community Group (CUVCG) pushed for transparency through FOI requests, engaged directly with City staff and elected officials, presented solutions (not just complaints), and kept the pressure on to ensure results.

Because of this work, and your help in signing petitions, attending meetings, sending emails, the City is now:
✔ Studying real redesign options
✔ Acknowledging neighbourhood impacts
✔ Moving this issue up the priority list

Now let’s finish the job right!
