Council unanimously passed this motion to support the petition to remove debris from the mouth of the river (moved by Mayor Bailey and seconded by Councillor Vogler). If you haven't signed the petition yet, please do...

๐Ÿšจ Your Support is Needed! ๐Ÿšค๐ŸŒŠ
A petition has been prepared asking local and provincial governments to take action to remove the hazardous accumulation of logs, trees, and debris at the mouth of the Thames River and the adjacent shoreline of Lake St. Clair.
Whether you're a boater, a resident, a visitor, or simply someone who cares about our community, this is an important public safety issue. Safe waterways benefit everyoneโ€”from recreational boaters and anglers to local businesses, tourism, and emergency services.
You can read and sign the petition at:
๐Ÿ“ Cove Marina
๐Ÿ“ Dock & Vine Restaurant
๐Ÿ“ Luken Marina
๐Ÿ“ Lighthouse Marina
๐Ÿ“ Lighthouse Variety
Every signature helps demonstrate the community's support for making this important waterway safer while protecting our natural environment.
Please take a few minutes to sign the petition, then share this post to help spread the word. Together, we can make a difference for Lighthouse Cove, the Thames River, and Lake St. Clair.

* Update - the kittens are being picked up tomorrow by someone affiliated with a rescue and it looks like they have homes. Thanks everyone !
Someone dumped 2 adorable kittens (and mom) at the Lions Park. We first saw them on Thursday and mom was around, but we haven't seen her in a couple of days now. The kittens are shy, but not feral. They look to be about 12 weeks old. One is all black and one is all grey, both with what looks like will be long fur. They are gorgeous and we want to find a home for them. We have been feeding them and are going to trap them. Please let us know if you or someone you know wants to welcome these babies into your family.

Today is the big day and it is HOT! Whether you are driving your cart in our "parade" or spectating, don't forget the water, hats, and sunscreen! Carts will leave the park at approx. 11:45am and we will drive to the end of Melody and back, down to the pier, along Tisdelle, POSSIBLY down Crest River (depending on how people are feeling in the heat) and end at Dock & Vine. Back at the restaurant we will vote on our favorite carts and award prizes to the top three (top prize is a blow-up paddleboard and the coveted trophy)! We'll also have Canada Day tattoos for the kids (and big kids). Kyle and Stephanie will have food and drink specials waiting for us along with live music and cooling misters on the patio! We look forward to celebrating with everyone!!
**** REMINDER the rules that govern our Golf Cart Pilot Project ALWAYS apply ( MUST be registered, no kids on carts etc.) If you're new to the area or are visiting, please be reminded of the rules...

Who will win the Canada Day trophy this year?
We're 2 days away from Canada Day and we hope to see everyone out with their decorated carts! Join us at the Lions park at 11:30am - we'll leave the park at approx.11:45 and start our drive around the Cove. We will update with an exact route on Tuesday (weather may play a role), but we will definitely finish at Dock & Vine where they will have LIVE music and specials waiting for us!! We'll also have great prizes for the best dressed carts, so get creative and have some fun!!!
p.s. the Lakeshore Canada Day parade is in Stoney Point this year starting at 4:30pm. If you have a trailer, consider also including your cart in that event.
