Mackie’s Place is a youth hub offering various job skills training programs, free homemade meals, employment opportunities, homeschool options, and more! Yesterday, Constable Mel Ballard, the Youth Exploitation Liaison for Surrey Police, came to the hub to train our staff in recognition and prevention of human trafficking and sexual exploitation.

Tragically, this is a very real issue here in the Metro Vancouver Area, with the vast majority of victims being 14-24 years old — the same age range as the young people we serve at Mackie’s Place.

Our staff are now better-equipped to watch for the signs of human trafficking and sexual exploitation, to ask the right questions, and to turn to the right resources for help.

Thank you, Constable Mel & the entire team, for the work you do to protect our city’s kids.

Seeking help with baking & cleaning tasks (basic recipes for cookies and loaves)

🍝 North Surrey HQ Kitchen

Wednesdays, 10am - 1pm 
Thursdays, 10am - 3pm
Fridays, 10am - 12pm

Seeking help with meal prep & cleaning tasks

⏰ 2-3 hour shifts are preferred at either location!
