Mackie’s Place is honoured to be the recipient of a $5,000 grant from the Surrey Fire Fighters Local1271 & Charitable Society Charitable Society! 🚒

We are so grateful for all that our city’s firefighters do to support Mackie’s Place — not only financially, but also in stopping by for visits with our youth and staff, and attending to calls from the hub as needed.

Thank you, Surrey Firefighters, for keeping our young people and our city safe! 👨🏻‍🚒

Every quarter, we get to gather with our recent Barista and Junior Cook grads to celebrate all they’ve accomplished! 🎓

Our program leaders, Tsion and Marco, speak about each grad individually, highlighting their growth and strengths throughout the program. Each tribute is read aloud in front of the graduate’s peers and the Mackie’s Place staff in attendance.

This public recognition is such an encouraging way to conclude the program, sending the participants into the community — and future employment — with confidence and pride! 🩵

It’s always such a special day!

Introducing our Pumpkin Cheesecake Pie 🥧🎃 Classic pumpkin pie meets creamy cheesecake and the result is very, very delicious.

It starts with a pumpkin-spiced graham wafer crust; then filled with a light, silky-smooth pumpkin cheesecake that’s perfectly spiced with all those cozy fall flavours; and finished with a pretty border of whipped cream because, honestly… she deserves to be dressed up.

🍂 Creamy. Cozy. Perfectly spiced. And basically everything we love about fall in one beautiful pie.

Can be frozen, or lasts up to 5 days in the fridge!

Available for your October Pie Club orders! You won’t want to miss it.

We’re still trying to find the words to adequately express our gratitude to Beyond BC Greenhouse Charitable Foundation for choosing Mackie’s Place as the beneficiary of their remarkable golf tournament - for a third year!

This company - their team - is truly incredible. They care for people in a way that has inspired so many others to show up in the same way. This is especially evident on tournament day, when every golfer and every dinner guest shows up to give back to their community generously.

This year, that generosity raised an unbelievable $641,772 for Mackie’s Place!

We are blown away - just look at those grateful, shocked, and tearful reactions 🥹

For now, we want to say a very special thank you to Olivia, event-planner extraordinaire, as well as Rick, Veronica, Jessica, Cody, Danton, Kyle, and the entire BCG team. You are truly making this community a better place.

We are immensely grateful to every individual and company who contributed to this event! 🩵

Mackie’s Place is seeking individuals with expertise that they’re ready to share with the next generation to volunteer as workshop facilitators!

Workshops will take place on Thursday afternoons from 3:00 - 5:30pm, in which you would be leading a 15-minute presentation, doing a Q&A, and then remaining present for further discussions.

Our Fall series - Healthy Foundations - will cover various topics regarding physical and mental wellbeing. Our Winter series - Identity & Relationships - will focus on building confidence, interpersonal skills, and a greater sense of self.

Have something to share in any of these areas, or know someone we should reach out to? We’d love to hear from you!

Send us a message or email [email protected] to learn more!
