A huge thank you/miigwetch to everyone that participated on Saturday cleaning the beach all the way from the southend of Saugeen beach up to the north end of Sauble beach! Check out the Owen Sound Suntimes article for further information on this event.

Just a handful of the 85 volunteers who came out to pick up litter from Saugeen Beach this weekend. With joint efforts from Chippewas of Saugeen First Nation, Saugeen Fisheries, Zuzek Inc, Friends of Sauble, local residents, and seasonal visitors, 220 lbs of garbage were removed from the shoreline!

Thanks to everyone who helped clean the beach yesterday! It was wonderful to see so many people of all ages from both the Sauble and Saugeen communities working together! Over 200 pounds of garbage was collected!

Volunteers fanned out across Saugeen Beach on Saturday for a spring clean-up organized by local groups and organizations.

Mark your calendars for Saturday, May 16, 2026, from 10 AM to 12 PM for the next beach clean-up event!

This clean-up is a true community partnership, bringing together the Lake Huron Coastal Centre, Saugeen Fisheries Department, Saugeen Ojibway Nation Beach Management Committee, Zuzek Inc., Friends of Sauble, and the volunteers who help keep the beaches clean, safe, and welcoming.

When we work together, great things happen—for the shoreline and shoreline communities.
