Ag-West Bio Ag-West Bio is Saskatchewan’s bioscience industry association.

Ag-West Bio is Saskatchewan's bioscience industry association, working as a catalyst for partnerships and industry growth by aiding strategic alliances, providing seed capital, regulatory support and industry information. Membership includes corporations, associations and individuals representing natural health products and functional foods, bioproducts and bioprocesses, and agricultural bioscience sectors. Saskatchewan has much to offer, with outstanding science R&D infrastructure, a talented workforce, quality raw materials and a solid business environment. Ag-West Bio is funded by the Saskatchewan Ministry of Agriculture and Agriculture & Agri-Food Canada's Growing Forward II program, with support from Western Economic Diversification Canada and the National Research Council’s Industrial Research Assistance Program.

This week had Ag-West Bio on the road connecting with national partners and colleagues at Canadian Agri-Food Policy Institute Connect in Ottawa. An expertly coordinated event with thoughtfully curated topics of great national importance at a time of great change and opportunity. We are lucky to share a board member in Jason Skotheim, which increases our proximity to one of Canada's most important thought leadership groups.

We want to extend our most sincere congratulations to CAPI for what was nothing short of an excellent event on the national stage. As a strong supporter of CAPI's Innovation Statement and other initiatives we look forward to remaining highly engaged with Tyler McCann, Elise Bigley, Elisabeta Lika, Amanda Brodhagen and the other professionals in CAPI.

Farm & Food Care Saskatchewan (FFC SK) announced today that the winner of the 2026 Champion Award is

“We’re incredibly proud to recognize Cherilyn for all the work she does to translate agriculture to people not familiar with farming,” said Clinton Monchuk, Executive Director of FFC SK. “She helps bring the story of Canadian agriculture closer to the consumers who depend on it every day.”

Darcy Pawlik, CEO of Ag-West Bio and one of the nominators, agrees. “Cherilyn is a true friend of our industry who works to bridge farmers, industry and government like no one else,” he said. “We hosted international guests this summer and where Cherilyn shines goes beyond telling people that Canadian ag is sustainable. She gives examples and authentically shares stories that help attendees really understand the journey of farmers.”
