East Kent Hot Rods for Hospice

10/02/2026

As the event coordinator, I’m thrilled to share that our event has been nominated for the Outstanding Community Innovation Award for the 2026 National Philanthropy Day!

To say we’re honoured would be an understatement. Whatever the outcome, being recognized is an incredible achievement.

This event wouldn’t be possible without our amazing planning committee. What started as a ragtag group of car buffs coming together to create something special has grown into an incredible team, and along the way, we’ve built lasting friendships.

I’m so proud of what we’ve accomplished together and grateful to everyone who has helped make this event a success!

Keep being amazing,

Emily Vollans

THANK YOU FROM EAST KENT HOT RODS FOR HOSPICE!

What an incredible year.

Despite the weather not being in our favour, the die-hard car enthusiasts, families, friends, volunteers, and supporters still came out and made the day something special. Seeing everyone enjoying the cars, spending time together, and supporting such an important cause reminded us exactly why we do this every year.

Most importantly, we want to send a huge and heartfelt THANK YOU to our sponsors. Without your generosity and continued support, none of this would be possible. You help us turn a love of hot rods and community into something that makes a real difference. Mother Nature may not have cooperated this year, but our community certainly did. And judging by the smiles we saw throughout the day, a little bad weather wasn't going to stop anyone from having a great time!

Together, we raised an incredible $36,656.81 this year, bringing our total raised to date to $133,180.76! ❤️

From everyone at East Kent Hot Rods for Hospice, thank you for believing in this event, supporting our community, and helping us achieve something we can all be proud of.

We’re already looking forward to East Kent Hot Rods for Hospice 2027!

Thank you. Truly. We couldn't do it without you.

Huge thank you to the Highgate Lions Club for donating all proceeds (plus maybe a little more) to East Kent Hot Rods for Hospice, we are so incredibly thankful to have you at our event every year working together to raise such important funds for Chatham-Kent Hospice

Now that we have received this final large donation, the final total should be revealed soon! Stay tuned

If you are able, show your support to Highgate by bringing your car in the Highgate Fair Parade at 12:00 on Saturday!

The Highgate Lions would like to send a huge thank you to everyone who stopped by our food tent this past weekend at Ridge Runners East Kent Hot Rods for Hospice! Despite the weather, you came out to support this great cause, and we truly appreciate it!

In the photo, Lions Kevin Galbraith, Chris Garton and President Dave Uitvlugt present a $2,000 cheque to Ridge Runners East Kent, which will be included in their donation to Chatham-Kent Hospice.
