KIA is proud to be represented at the Inuit Circumpolar Council’s 15th General Assembly in Iqaluit, Nunavut, by Madeline Kaludjak, KIA Secretary Treasurer.

The ICC General Assembly brings Inuit from across Inuit Nunaat together to discuss the issues that matter most to our people, including Indigenous rights, peace and cooperation, food security, protection of Inuit lands and waters, Inuit-centred economic development, health and wellbeing, language, and intergenerational knowledge.

Madeline’s attendance reflects KIA’s continued commitment to supporting Inuit leadership, strengthening circumpolar relationships, and advancing the important work that protects and promotes Inuit rights, culture, and priorities across the Arctic.

We are proud to see Kivalliq voices contributing to these important conversations.

The Kivalliq Inuit Association would also like to congratulate Herb Nakimayak elected as President of ICC Canada and Aluki Kotierk elected as ICC Chair for the next 4 Years

Kivalliq Inuit Association was honoured to meet with Fox Lake Cree Nation this week during community consultations and discussions with Chief and Council.

President Kono Tattuinee joined leadership and community members to focus on relationship building, exploring opportunities for collaboration, understanding community priorities, and strengthening partnerships between Indigenous organizations.

This engagement directly supports KIA’s Strategic Priority Area 5: Advocacy and Business Relationships, which emphasizes building strong relationships with governments, stakeholders, and other organizations to improve collaboration and secure better outcomes for Inuit.

The conversations with Fox Lake Cree Nation were productive and provided valuable insights that will help guide future initiatives and cooperative efforts. KIA remains committed to advancing shared goals, strengthening Indigenous partnerships, and supporting community well being across regions.

Thank you to Fox Lake Cree Nation for the warm welcome and meaningful dialogue. We look forward to continuing this important work together.

Inuktitut to follow.
