All the beautiful weather we've been enjoying lately has created the perfect opportunity to get out and explore our own community. Take some time to soak up the sunshine, enjoy the refreshing breeze coming off the lake, and visit the beautiful Palmer Park. 🌳

Whether you're going for a walk, relaxing by the water, or spending time with friends and family, it's a great reminder of the wonderful spaces we have right here in our community.

Today we proudly wear red in support of accessibility, inclusion, and the contributions of Canadians living with disabilities. ❤️

Red Shirt Day is an opportunity to celebrate diverse abilities, raise awareness, and continue building communities where everyone feels valued, respected, and included.

Together we can create a future with more understanding, more opportunities, and stronger connections for all.

We were inspired by the meaningful stories submitted, highlighting the important connections that help people feel included, valued, and engaged in their communities.

Everyone who submitted a story was entered into a random draw, and we are excited to congratulate Leanne (pictured) and Sandra, who were our lucky winners! 🎁 They each received some Community Living swag as a thank-you for sharing their experiences.

Thank you to everyone who participated and for the incredible work you do every day to foster connections that truly count. 💙

Community Living Month may be coming to an end, but we will continue celebrating the people we support all year long!

Today, we would like to highlight Ethan, a young man who is passionate about animals and the outdoors. Ethan had a goal of finding a job working with animals, and through consistency, determination, and never giving up, he was able to secure a three-month contract with the Uxbridge-Scugog Animal Shelter. Once the three months were completed, Ethan’s position was extended indefinitely!

Ethan is incredibly proud and knowledgeable about his job and is always enthusiastic to attend work and care for the animals he loves. We are so proud of all he has accomplished and look forward to seeing what he does next!
