June is National Indigenous History Month. This is an opportunity to recognize and celebrate the rich history, cultures, traditions, and contributions of First Nations, Inuit, and Métis peoples across what is now called Canada.

At CVS, we acknowledge the importance of listening, learning, and supporting inclusive communities where Indigenous voices, cultures, and experiences are respected and valued.

June is Pride Month! Let’s celebrate the diversity, strength, and contributions of 2SLGBTQIA+ communities all while recognizing the ongoing importance of inclusion, respect, safety, and equity for all.
At CVS, we are committed to creating welcoming and inclusive environments where everyone feels valued, supported, and respected for who they are.
We celebrate Pride and stand alongside the 2SLGBTQIA+ community, not just this month but throughout the year.

Today is World Day for Assistive Technology! Let’s recognize how assistive technology helps create more accessible, inclusive, and independent lives for millions of people around the world.

Assistive technology includes a plethora of tools such as communication devices, hearing aids, mobility supports, screen readers, adaptive equipment, and other technologies that help people participate fully in everyday life.

These tools are so important for reducing barriers and supporting access, inclusion, dignity, and choice for everyone in our communities!

What does an accessible community actually look like?
It’s a place where barriers are removed, voices are heard, and everyone has the same opportunity to participate fully.
National AccessAbility Week runs from May 31 to June 6, 2026.
This week is a reminder to recognize the leadership and lived experiences of people with disabilities, and to keep pushing for more accessible and inclusive communities all year long.
Accessibility is not a once a year conversation. It’s something we build every day.

🎭 We All Need a Home 🎭
A powerful new theatre production coming to explores what “home” really means, and who gets to feel they belong.
Created through disability theatre and guided by self advocates, this work shares real lived experiences and opens up conversations about housing, inclusion, and dignity in our communities.
We are especially excited to share that two individuals supported by CVS are acting in the production! We are so proud to see their voices, experiences, and talents helping bring this important story to life on stage.
In a time when housing is such an important issue, this production invites us to listen, reflect, and think differently about what inclusion truly looks like.

It's Global Accessibility Awareness Day!
Accessibility is so much more than ramps or wheelchairs (but also includes ramps and wheelchairs!) It is about making sure people can fully take part in the world in ways that work for them.
That includes things like closed captioning, screen readers, braille, clear signage, audio description, accessible websites and apps, hearing loops, service animals, adjustable lighting, and any thoughtful design that considers a wide range of needs.
Small changes in how we design, communicate, and include people can make a big difference in everyday access and participation.
