When it comes to tires, proper installation and maintenance play a critical role in keeping drivers safe on the road.

While it may be tempting to handle tire work at home, professional tire service helps ensure key safety steps aren’t missed, such as correct torque, proper balancing, and accurate inspection for hidden wear or damage.

For something as important as your safety on the road, professional tire care makes a difference.

The 27th Annual OTDA Fundraiser & Charity Golf Classic is just around the corner, and we’re excited to bring together our industry and community in support of a great cause.

Auction donations, both silent and live, are a major part of what makes this event such a success. Every contribution helps raise funds for the SickKids Foundation, supporting children and families across Canada.

SickKids Foundation is connected to The Hospital for Sick Children, a global leader in pediatric care, research, and innovation. Their work helps deliver life-saving treatments and better outcomes for children when they need it most.

If you’d like to support this year’s event, please reach out to the OTDA at [email protected]

The OTDA has been asked to circulate an important information request from the Resource Productivity and Recovery Authority (RPRA) as part of ongoing efforts to better understand scrap tire collection and recycling conditions across Ontario. This request follows continued advocacy efforts by the OTDA and industry stakeholders to ensure collection sites are receiving timely service and that the regulator has accurate, on-the-ground information from across the province.

We strongly encourage all tire collection sites to participate and complete the RPRA form. The more accurate information submitted, the better the RPRA can assess current system challenges and work toward improving service stability across Ontario.

Completed forms should be submitted directly to: [email protected]

As we move into late spring and summer driving conditions, now is a great time to make sure your vehicle is ready for the road ahead.

Warm weather can affect tire pressure, tread wear, and overall handling. A quick seasonal tire check can help improve safety, fuel efficiency, and performance.

Make sure to check:

Tire pressure
Tread depth
Visible signs of wear or damage

Your trusted tire dealers across Ontario can help with a professional inspection when needed!

Don’t Trust the Tire Sidewall PSI Rating Alone

The PSI rating on your tire's sidewall is NOT your vehicle's recommended pressure; it’s the maximum PSI limit of the tire. Be sure to always follow your vehicle manufacturer’s specifications instead.

Visit your local tire dealer for proper inflation guidance.

Warning Signs You Shouldn’t Ignore

If your vehicle starts to vibrate, pulls to one side, or you hear unusual noises while driving, it may be a sign of tire wear, imbalance, or alignment issues. These symptoms can worsen over time and may impact both safety and tire life if left unaddressed.

Visit your local tire dealer for a professional inspection and peace of mind on the road.
