The Sounds of Returning: Listening for the Living World is having a pop-up event in our Carriage House this Saturday from 2:30 - 4:00!

What to expect:

🍃an immersive sound installation that tells a story of post-fire restoration and the return of local endangered species
🍃takes approximately 10 minutes, with additional time afterwards to share thoughts
🍃haptic vest available for added sensory input

🥳 We’re thrilled to say we’ve been nominated for Workplace Culture and our Managing Director, Tristan Boisvert, and Board Member Ankit Sachdeva (Anreal Travel), have both been nominated for Young Business Leader of the Year.

This year has been especially meaningful as we navigate the development and sustainability of arts, culture, and heritage in the South Okanagan. We have always known that the work we do is not a hobby but an integral pillar of the wellbeing of this community.

A big thank you to the Chamber of Commerce for making this happen, SOICS and JCI for sponsoring these two categories - it’s a lot of work and we’re thankful for the opportunity to share with everyone the culture and commitment we have to this community.

🌿 Join us for three special full-day beading workshops with Michelle Jacobs, Mohawk artist and expert beader, as we approach Remembrance Day.

🔴 Workshop 1: Beaded Poppy — Learn the traditional art of raised beadwork appliqué as you create a beaded poppy — a meaningful way to mark Remembrance Day. Michelle will guide you step by step through this traditional technique.

Date: October 17th & November 8th · 9 am start (full day, expect 3/4pm finish)

🎲 Come join us for a fun afternoon on October 24th playing board games! This month's featured game for our board game drop-in group is "Daybreak" 🌞

Daybreak is a co-operative game about climate action. Each player controls a world power, deploying policies and technologies to both dismantle the engine of global heating and to build resilient societies that protect people from life-threatening crises. 🌎️

🧡 The Penticton & District Community Arts Council is working to understand the truth and the meaning of reconciliation in our individual lives as well as our professional ones. Through the lens of art, we work to listen to Indigenous voices, which helps us as we work towards building supportive and meaningful relationships to strengthen our community.

In 2026 our reconcil-Action has looked like:

🔸Hiring Strong Circle, a Indigenous-led governance organiztion who reviewed, taught, and rebuilt our board policies and handbook from the lens of Indigenous knowledge.
🔸 Partnering with Canadian Parks and Wilderness on Artvocacy, a program that supported 24 local artists, including Indigenous and Metis particpants, allowing us to engage with and learn from local Indigenous Land Stewards as a cohort (come see the work for yourself until December 19th at the Leir House!)
🔸 Offering our board, artists, and employees space within IndigenEYEZ's current leadership workshops as well as Table Talks Workshops, and captikʷł learning.

We also invite you to join us September 30th for the annual 2km Walk for the Children in Penticton.
