Building more inclusive communities starts with understanding, practical skills and opportunities to learn.
Through our Learning and Development department, Sensity recently partnered with LAMP Community Health Centre in Etobicoke to deliver Intervenor and Sighted Guide training, sharing knowledge and practical experience to help strengthen understanding of deafblindness, sensory loss and communication.
Facilitated by Cullen Drew, Learning & Development Specialist, the sessions brought participants together for thoughtful questions, meaningful discussions and opportunities to learn from one another. The training also marked Cullen’s first time delivering training in the Greater Toronto Area!
Reflecting on the experience, Cullen shared:
“The thoughtful questions, meaningful discussions and insightful conversations made the sessions interactive, enriching and enjoyable. I appreciated everyone’s openness and willingness to share their perspectives and experiences.”
We’re grateful to Boris Nwachukwu, Program Manager, and the LAMP team for helping coordinate this opportunity for shared learning and collaboration.
At Sensity, we believe sharing knowledge beyond our own workforce helps build understanding, strengthen community capacity and support more accessible and inclusive environments where people who are deafblind can communicate, participate and connect.
