For those who haven't been to the rinks yet, we just wanted to share some info!
We've got skating areas on both baseball diamonds at Palgrave Park (17255 Mount Hope Rd https://share.google/psGMH0A8fYytz2Y6H). The north diamond has a big rink that can be used for hockey and skating, and the south diamond has a loop trail just for skating . The hockey rink is big enough to play a couple of games side by side, so please remember to share the rink if it's busy!
There are no nets on the hockey rink, but you're welcome to bring your own 🥅. We've left some cones there to put together some makeshift nets, and there's a bucket of pucks hanging on the fence.
There are a few skating aids for beginners and shovels and scrapers if the rinks need a bit of snow cleared off. There's also a portapotty if you can brave it! 🥶
The rinks are maintained and flooded regularly by volunteers, and we'll update this page if we need to close them due to bad weather. Please don't skate 🚫 if it's warming up outside (above 0), especially in the sunny afternoons, as it damages the ice and makes it harder to get up and running again.
There are no set hours - you can even play at night under the lights 🤩! And there's no cost - this is an incredible free resource for our wonderful community. Hope to see you out there!
