The census data might lead you to a home your ancestors lived in. Consider adding this information about the home and your ancestors to our website so that your descendants don't have to do the search again! Ancestralhomes.net is a not for profit organisation based in Canada.

We’re so excited for the release of the 1926 Census and we want to help you get the very most out of your search! 🔎 It's important to pay attention to the occupation column in Form B.

A farm labourer may point you to rural townlands and parish life.
A linen worker or shipyard employee could connect you to an industrial city.
A railway or dock labourer might lead you to a port town.

That single detail can help you understand where your ancestors lived and guide you toward places you can still visit to walk in their footsteps today.👣 💚

From shipyards to small parishes, the story beside their name could shape your heritage journey.

Who will you search for first? 👇

You think you've got the wrong person. Or bad handwriting.

Or ancestors who couldn't do basic math.

Here's what actually happened: They weren't confused. They were living in a world where your age wasn't a fact—it was negotiable.

No birth certificates existed for most people until the 1930s.

Birthdays weren't celebrated. Ages were stories, not numbers.

So people lied. Parents altered family Bibles to get kids factory jobs.

Men padded ages to enlist or dodged drafts by aging up.

Couples avoided scandal...
