The illegal expansion of settlements in the occupied West Bank continues day after day. And Carleton University continues to be complicit. As we write this, israel has killed journalist Muhammad Abdel Aziz al-Najjar in a drone strike in the Al-Mawasi “safe zone”. Our journalists continue to be killed for showing the world the truth of the oppression they endure. The genocide continues. The demolitions continue. Don’t stop speaking about Palestine.

‼️CARLETON: Join us TODAY, September 23, at 1PM for a silent study-in on the first floor of MacOdrum Library (tunnel entrance) to raise awareness for students in Gaza.

A student in Gaza has been accepted to Carleton’s MSc Biology program and over 130 Palestinian students have been waiting for their Canadian study permits. All 12 universities in Gaza have been destroyed by israel, yet Palestinian students who have been accepted into Canadian universities recieve no response from IRCC and are at risk of having their acceptance letters revoked.

Send an email now urging that Carleton extend the students acceptance letter so the Canadian government processes the study permits for these students, and coordinate safe exits for students trapped in Gaza (link in bio)!

The torture of Palestinians, the demolition of homes, the attacks on and the burning of the beautiful land of Palestine continues. Journalists are still being targeted. A man was found guilty of assaulting a young Palestinian woman while she peacefully exercised her democratic right to protest. Last week, he walked free.

Today, Palestinian community organizations are speaking with one voice to reject a decision that has left the victim, her family, and our broader community feeling abandoned by a justice system that failed to deliver meaningful accountability.

As you get ready to watch the World Cup final, remember the Palestinian footballers killed by israel.

immediately banned Russia over its illegal invasion of Ukraine, yet refuses to ban israel despite the overwhelming evidence of the genocide they’ve committed against Palestinians.

Since October 2023 israeli forces have killed at least 567 Palestinian footballers and sports staff, and over 1000 athletes.

Palestinian athletes deserve to live. They deserve to train, to compete, to eat, to lose and win, to wear their colors, and to represent their people with dignity. They deserve the right to play. And Palestinian children deserve the right to be children, to run after a ball, and to believe that their future can be bigger than the occupation around them. israels cowardly efforts to drain Palestine of its names, its heroes, its young stars, its voice, will never succeed.

Palestinians deserve life.
