We are deeply saddened to hear of Marie’s passing. Marie was a great part of Bytown’s family. She came to almost all of our shows and was always filled with compliments. We will miss her. All our love to Canadian Showtime Chorus & Marie’s family.

It is with great sadness that we share the passing of our cherished member, Marie Welch Dean. Marie passed away the morning of Thursday, July 30th, surrounded by her loving family and friends.

Marie was a beloved member of the Canadian Showtime Chorus (CSC) family and was honoured with her 35-year membership pin earlier this year. Her love of music began at The Royal Conservatory of Music, and she shared that gift throughout her life. During her years with CSC, Marie sang proudly in the bass section.

Marie’s kindness and selflessness touched so many lives. Her commitment to CSC never wavered despite her health challenges. She attended Fall Music School in 2025, sang with us at our recent Friends & Family show, and was honoured with a Sweet Adelines of the Year nomination in June - a fitting recognition of the love and dedication she brought to our chorus family.

Marie will be deeply missed and remembered by all who had the privilege of singing with her - her beautiful spirit and love of singing will be remembered within our chorus.

We extend our heartfelt condolences to Marie's family and loved ones. Rest peacefully, Marie. We will carry your song in our hearts always.

At the beginning of June, Serena passed Pam’s star on the the one and only Janet Peddle-Zuters!

She cited her helpful nature and how she has made her more comfortable to come out of her shell with the chorus

Last Monday night, we had the honour of welcoming Stephanie Turpin as our Sweet Adeline of the Year!

She was passed the torch by her partner-in-crime and last year’s recipient, Kelly!
