Last Saturday, we hosted the very first North Shore Child Care Fair at Queen Mary Elementary School, and it was a full-circle moment for us.

Families came looking for child care options. Daycare centres and providers showed up ready to connect. ECE educators filled the room with knowledge and warmth. And together, they created exactly what we hoped for: a space where the North Shore child care community could finally meet in one place.

Finding quality child care is one of the biggest challenges families on the North Shore face. Events like this exist because that gap is real, and because our community deserves better support navigating it.

We’re so grateful to everyone who attended, exhibited, and helped make this first event a success. Your presence made it what it was.

This is just the beginning. We’re already looking forward to the next one.

POV: your nonprofit just turned 50 🎂✨

We celebrated 50 years of NSCR in North Vancouver and the night exceeded every expectation we had.

Seeing so many familiar faces in one room, staff, volunteers, donors, community members, people who have been part of this organization’s story for years, it hit different. This community is genuinely something special and nights like this are a reminder of exactly that.

Shoutout to every single person who came out, raised a glass with us, and celebrated what 50 years of community work actually looks like. You made the night.

And to our incredible sponsors and partners and Peter Trudolubovs, thank you for helping us pull off something truly memorable.

We’re so excited to welcome Qiu, Mima and Hailey to the team! Over the next few months, they’ll be supporting programs, engaging with community members, and helping make a positive impact across the North Shore.

They’re bringing fresh ideas, great energy, and lots of enthusiasm, and we’re so happy to have them on board. If you see them around at programs or events, don’t be shy, give them a warm welcome!

1,100 tax returns. $500,000+ in refunds. And a mural covered in thank you cards. That is what community looks like. 🩵

Yesterday was the last day of our Tax Clinic, and what a season it has been! None of this happens without our amazing volunteers. Thank you for showing up, for caring, and for making such a real difference in people’s lives.
