End-of-summer soccer this long weekend to kick off September! Today was our first ever Girl Guide Day with the Vancouver Rise FC, a professional women's soccer team, as they played the Halifax Tides at Swangard Stadium in Burnaby. Thank you to the Girl Guide members & loved ones who joined us for this fun day in the sun.

Milestone alert: We're only a few sign-ups away from 100 summer camp volunteer applications for 100 years of Camp Olave!

In 2027, Camp Olave on the Sunshine Coast will celebrate its 100th anniversary. BC Girl Guides will be hosting two special August weeks of centennial camp fun, powered by adult volunteers who come for one or both weeks. We need YOU, too! Visit our BC event calendar at www.girlguides.ca/bc to let us know you want to join the fun; each extra adult Guider will help us welcome more Girl Guide youth campers. Volunteer sign-ups are open now so we can plan ahead for this big birthday bash over the coming year.

Today is the early bird deadline for Adventure Ahead: Activity & Resource Fair for Girl Guide Volunteers (Sunday, September 20, 2026 in Vancouver) & 200+ members have already signed up!

Register now on the event calendar at www.girlguides.ca/bc to claim your participant gift: a folding utility box bag to fill with Guiding gear, camp or craft supplies, groceries, or anything else you tote around in your busy life.

This fall fair is hosted by West Coast Area but open to all BC adult volunteers or youth who volunteer as junior leaders, with 35+ booths of inspiring ideas & free giveaways.

Attendees registered by August 15 will be guaranteed this year's special swag take-home; later registrants are welcome up until the event date but will only receive a gift if supplies last.

Girl Guides go Greek: Canadian teen travellers from the Okanagan & Fraser Valley are adventuring through Greece. Their Mediterranean itinerary includes ancient sites, island visits, hot weather, delicious food, & global connections like a meet-up with local members from the Greek Guiding Association (ΣΩΜΑ ΕΛΛΗΝΙΚΟΥ ΟΔΗΓΙΣΜΟΥ)!

Looking for weekend family fun? Come snack & explore at the BC Dumpling Festival this Saturday, August 15, 11:00am-8:00pm at Town Centre Park in Coquitlam! Lougheed Area Girl Guides will be there with a FREE dumpling friendship crest for the first 200 members to visit the Girl Guide booth while wearing your Guiding uniform. Say hi & collect this sweet souvenir for your camp blanket.
