Scouts Canada is the country's leading youth organisation. For more than 100 years, we have brought a world of adventure, outdoor experience and friendship to 17 million Canadian youth. Scouts have a lot of fun discovering new th

ings and experiences they wouldn't have elsewhere. Along the way they develop into capable, confident and well-rounded individuals, better prepared for success in the world. Scouting offers opportunities where you can discover the best in yourself and the best in others. They run all year round and offer adventures that youth will remember for a lifetime!

We have a group of Venturers & Rovers that have the opportunity for a once in a lifetime trip to attend camp at Kandersteg International Scout Center. (More info below). In a time where there is so much divide in the world, your help to bring our kids to a place where they will interact with other youth to build peace would have immeasurable impact. All for a grocery order!

In July 2026, The North Shore Super Company will be sending a Contingent to the Kandersteg International Scout Center.

1) What is the Kandersteg International Scout Center? (KISC)

Our Founder, Lord Baden-Powell, dreamed of one place where Scouts could meet, live in peace, and learn from each other.
Only 13 years after the first scout camp on Brownsea Island, the first international event took place: the first World Scout Jamboree. At the Jamboree's closing ceremony, B.P. said that he dreamed of one place in the world, where this
“Jamboree” feeling of world brotherhood, peace and international friendship - would
happen all year long. His dream became reality in 1923 when Kandersteg International Scout Centre was founded in the small village of Kandersteg, Switzerland.

2) What is the purpose of the adventure?
• To provide youth an international scouting opportunity to develop new skills and build their confidence in an adventure based outdoor setting.
• To improve Canadian Scouting by participants bringing what they learn abroad home for Canadian events
• To send a positive sign to the world that we can learn and grow together with youth leading the way

What an amazing experience at camp Byng. We could not be more proud of our scouts! They had a ton of fun and gave the competitions their all with amazing results. A more detailed list of awards coming soon but inspite of tough competition, our 3 patrols took home 2nd, 3rd and 6th overall out of 25 patrols. But it was not only the competition that made us proud. They did many deeds outside of the competition, helping a lady with heavy bags on the ferry, helping the Byng Ranger during their free time and helping many young scouts not in our troupe. What a great group of humans you are!!

They have a wide range of local products at great prices and scouts get back over 10% of the sale price!

A great night of STEM and sugar… marshmallow structure building. Started with structural competition for the tallest tower then onto the creative side where we saw a recreation of a Mayan temple, story telling pieces and a recreation of a historic tank. And our youngest patrol showed great leadership in running the event. Well done everybody!!
