105 RCSCC Lonsdale 📣 JOIN US! Wednesday Evenings Between 6:30 pm and 9:30 pm
Between September and June
Youth Ages 12 - 18 years We are always looking for new recruits to join.

Cadets Canada is a division of the Department of National Defense that sponsors cadet training. The goals of the cadet program is to develop citizenship, leadership, and physical fitness in Canadian youth, as well as stimulate an interest in the Canadian Armed Forces. All classes and activities delivered through the program are taught by trained officers and aim to achieve one or more of these goa

ls. Some of the fun activities that we have done (pre COVID) include rock climbing, snoeshowing, sailing, kayaking, and more! Training at the local unit includes learning about seamanship (ropework), marksmanship (firing an air rifle), and drill. 🍂 Looking back at October 18th, a day to remember! 🧡

One of the highlights of our fall training was Cultural First Nations Day at Grouse Mountain. Our cadets had the opportunity to listen, learn, and reflect through storytelling, art, and shared experiences, reinforcing the importance of respect, culture, and connection to the land.

Experiences like this help shape thoughtful leaders, and we are grateful for the knowledge shared with our youth. 🍂

🇨🇦 Looking back on Remembrance Day 2025 — a parade we won’t forget.
Even weeks later, the pride, respect, and unity our cadets showed still resonates. They marched not just to remember, but to honour the stories, sacrifices, and strength of those who served.

RCSCC 105 Lonsdale was proud to participate once again in the West Vancouver Parade at the Memorial Arch in Memorial Park. 🇨🇦

The Royal Canadian Legion – West Vancouver Branch #60 holds the sacred trust of ensuring that the tradition of Remembrance is honoured by Canadians every year at the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month. 🌺
Each year, we send a group of cadets to represent our corps at this important location, standing with our community to remember and reflect. 🕊️

RCSCC 105 Lonsdale was honoured to take part in The Royal Canadian Legion West Vancouver Branch 60’s annual Remembrance Day ceremony at Capilano View Cemetery on Sunday, November 9th, 2025.

It was a privilege for our cadets to stand in remembrance and gratitude for the sacrifices made by Canadians who served and continue to serve. 🇨🇦❤️

The Flag Party this year, usually commanded by seasoned servicemen, was once again proudly led by our very own PO1 Parkinson, I. 🇨🇦✨ Her outstanding leadership helped ensure a smooth and dignified ceremony from start to finish.

We also had MC Lee, M. and LC Ruelles, C. representing with professionalism and pride as part of the Flag Party team. 🙌🎖️

Every year, for the Remembrance Day Parade, our cadets are invited to take part in the Cenotaph Guard — a position of great honour and respect. This requires extra training and dedication, and only a few are selected to represent the corps.
This year, the decision was especially tough as every cadet gave their absolute best. 👏
We’re proud to announce that CPO2 Zhou was chosen to represent RCSCC 105 Lonsdale at the North Vancouver Cenotaph Guard. ⚓️

✨ 50 Years of Girls in Cadets! ✨
Did you know? 
In 1975, girls were officially welcomed into the Canadian Cadet Program thanks to Bill C-16, which amended the National Defence Act to say “persons” instead of just “boys”. While girls had already been participating unofficially or in separate programs like the Navy League Wrenettes, this landmark change finally opened the doors of the Royal Canadian Sea Cadet Program to everyone. ⚓🇨🇦
Here at RCSCC 105 Lonsdale, we’re proud to carry that legacy forward. Today, 40% of our cadets are girls, and half of our adult staff are women—leading, mentoring, and inspiring the next generation. 💪🌊
Here’s to 50 years of progress, inclusivity, and leadership—and to the amazing girls and women who continue to shape our corps and our community. 🙌
