When it comes to managing dental pain, effective treatment doesn’t always mean opioids.

Dentists consider a range of pain-relief options, including non-opioid medications and local anesthetics, while taking each patient’s needs into account. Using evidence-based approaches can help manage pain while reducing the risks associated with opioid use.

A toothbrush only cleans about 60% of your tooth's surface. 🪥

Flossing cleans the other 40% hidden between your teeth. Skip the floss, skip the clean.

Looking for a quick snack to grab on the way to the beach? How about an apple and a handful of almonds? You’ll get fibre from the apple — and it will produce saliva that rinses away bad bacteria — and the almonds will give you a boost of calcium and protein. Both are excellent snacks for your teeth.

Thinking about buying a practice someday?

Even if ownership is still a few years away, the financial choices you make now can affect your options later.

Join CDSPI and Scotiabank on August 19 for Plan with Purpose: Debt, Life Goals, and Buying a Practice, a practical webinar for new dentists and dentists in their first years of practice.

1 in 5 Canadians will experience a mental health challenge this year. Yet myths and stigma can make it harder to seek help. For dental professionals, your mental health is just as important as your clinical skills - but it’s often misunderstood.

From “I should handle stress on my own” to “seeking help is a sign of weakness”, common myths can hold dentists and dental students back from getting the support they need.

Let’s change that.

Learn the facts and explore how CDSPI’s Members’ Assistance Program (MAP) can support your well-being—confidentially and at no cost.
