🎃 MOOSONEE FALL FEST EXHIBITION HALL 🍂

The Exhibition Hall is back for Fall Fest 2026! Community members of all ages are invited to enter their art, crafts, baking, photography, gardening, handmade items, and more.

Entries will be on display throughout the festival and judged by community volunteers, with ribbons, prizes, and special awards up for grabs.

Have something you’ve made, grown, baked, or created? Enter it! We’d love to see what Moosonee has to offer.

September at the Community Centre 🍂

September is here, and we have lots happening at the Community Centre! Check out our September Event Calendar and mark your calendars for these upcoming programs and activities.

🛴 Ride on Rodeo — Every Wednesday | 4:00–6:00 PM
Back for another season! Ride on Rodeo is for ages 0–6 years, and parents are welcome to bring their littles to the Arena for a safe, controlled space to practice their riding skills. Bring your scooters, tricycles, roller skates and bikes and let the little ones ride without having to worry about traffic! 🚲🛴🛼
Every Wednesday until the ice goes in.

🧵 Stitch in Time — Thursdays | 11:00 AM–1:00 PM
Returning September 10th in the Community Hall! Stitch in Time is our Elders’ program, providing a welcoming space to work on a new project, continue an old one, or simply enjoy some good company and conversation.

🎲 Family Activity Café — Friday, September 11 | 4:00–6:00 PM
Come join us in the Community Hall for a friendly game with friends, family and neighbours! A great opportunity to spend some time together and have some fun. 😊

🏐 Volleyball Drop-In - 📅 September 12 & 19 ⏰ 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM 👥 Ages 18+ 💲 $5 per person
Come out, get active, and enjoy some volleyball with friends.

🥫 Food Bank — Friday, September 18 | 1:00–4:00 PM
The Food Bank will be open in the Community Hall. We would also like to thank everyone who continues to donate reusable bags and everyone who has helped us get started on our hygiene bags with your generous donations. Your support means so much to our community! ❤️

🧺 Food Pantry
The Food Pantry is open during the Community Centre’s regular operating hours. Please feel free to come in and take what you need, and leave what you can.

🎀 Ribbon Skirt Making — Saturday, September 26
Prevention House, in partnership with the Town of Moosonee, will be hosting a Ribbon Skirt Making event in the Community Hall. Please see Prevention House for details.

📣 The Pad is Now Available for Rentals!
Looking for a space for your next activity, event, practice, or gathering? The Pad is ready to be booked!

🚧 Arena Turf Removal Notice 🚧

Please be advised that the arena turf will be removed during the week of August 17th.

If you're planning to rent the turf, please book your rental before August 17th as it will no longer be available once removal begins.

Pad rentals will be available once the turf has been removed.

To book a rental or for more information, please contact the Recreation Department.

🧼 CALLING ALL TRAVELLERS 🧳

Do you travel and stay in hotels? Or have you recently visited the dentist and received a travel-sized toothpaste that you won’t use?
We’re asking you to save those little hygiene items! 💙

The Recreation Department is collecting:
🧴 Travel-sized shampoos
🧴 Travel-sized conditioners
🧼 Bars of soap
🧴 Mini body washes
🦷 Travel-sized toothpaste

These items will be used to create Hygiene Bags for our local Food Bank and Arena Pantry.

Instead of leaving those unused hotel toiletries behind, or letting that extra toothpaste sit in a drawer, bring them to the Arena and donate them! Every little item can help provide someone in our community with essential personal hygiene products.

📅 Our next Food Bank Day is August 21st at 12:00 PM, and we’re hoping to begin including these hygiene items in our food boxes!

📍 Donations can be dropped off at the Arena.

A small item can make a big difference. Let’s work together to care for our community! ❤️

Arena Update: The arena turf will be removed during the week of August 17 as we prepare for the upcoming ice season. Once the turf has been removed, the arena pad will be available for rentals, providing a great space for community events, sports, and other activities before the ice is installed.
