Dr. Alexis Keeling: President's Report
It has been a remarkable year for BPW Moncton, filled with inspiring speakers, meaningful connections, professional development, community support, and unforgettable events. I am proud to reflect on another successful year of empowering women in business and strengthening our community.
We began the year with an engaging presentation by Melissa Doucet, who shared valuable insights into AI for marketing and business development, setting an exciting tone for the year ahead.
October featured our largest bursary fundraiser of the year — the Phenomenal Women Awards and EmPowerHer Grant. We were honoured to have RBC as our presenting sponsor. We celebrated three phenomenal women: Vanessa Paesani, Phylomene Zangio, and award winner Renee Charron. Congratulations also to Olivia Rossignol, recipient of the EmPowerHer Grant. A special thank you to guest speaker Frances LeBlanc and our wonderful MC Darlene Smith for making the evening so memorable.
In November, we welcomed Lauren Willows from Wealthy Women Financial Planning and Ganna Zaiets from Selfie Photo Studio for an informative and inspiring networking event.
Our December gathering was hosted at Casey & Co. Photography Studio by Karen Casey, where members assembled charcuterie boards and enjoyed a festive evening of networking and connection. Thank you as well to Cutter Perfection Cookie Co. for the beautiful festive cookies that added such a special touch to the evening.
January brought back one of our favourite annual traditions — the Vision Board Night and guided visualization session led by Kim Eagles. It was once again a fantastic and uplifting way to begin the new year together.
In February, we celebrated Galentine’s with special guests Renee Arseneau and Paula Higgins, founders of It’s Your Time Coaching, who shared empowering mindset coaching insights with our members.
March featured an inspiring presentation on resilience by Jennifer Deware from Visualiiz, hosted at Loft 331 and catered by Teo’s Catering.
In April, we gathered at Community Hub on Joyce where Shelly Leger, certified menopause coach, RHN, and naturotherapist, delivered an informative presentation on menopause and the importance of women’s health as we age. Dinner was catered by Mexi’s Express.
May brought an engaging and educational evening with Heather Fraser from Explore Nature’s Bounty, including an informative wilderness walk that many of us thoroughly enjoyed. We were also deeply moved by Karime Felix and her presentation about attending the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women as a Canadian BPW delegate.
Overall, it has truly been a fantastic year filled with learning, growth, collaboration, and friendship. As I step down as President of BPW Moncton, it fills my bucket to have been part of such a beautiful organization that brings women together to support one another, our community, and women around the world.
Thank you to my board, volunteers, sponsors, members, and supporters for making this year such a success. It has been an honour to serve as President, and I look forward to seeing BPW Moncton continue to thrive in the years ahead.
