Wendat Community Programs raises $2,140 Through Value Village FUNDrive

Did you know that Value Village has a FUNDrive program? Their goal is to help local nonprofits such as schools, sports teams, community groups, and other charitable organizations in Canada generate revenue to support their missions. Basically, charities collect gently used clothing, books and household items and Value Village buys the items and pays the organization.

From July 1 to August 25, 2026, Wendat Community Programs collected items and on August 26 the items were delivered to Value Village in Orillia. Over 9,000 pounds of items were collected, and this resulted in $2,141 for Wendat Community Programs.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to Access Storage for their donation of two storage units and to Two Men and a Truck for the truck and staff to take the items to Value Village. We also thank everyone in
the community who donated items to make this possible.

This initiative was led by Executive Assistant Amy Vassair and Summer Student Mitchell Ingram who worked tirelessly for two months on this fundraiser. Many staff and Board members at Wendat helped by picking up and delivering items to the storage unit. They also loaded all the items from the storage units into the trucks and then unloaded at Value Village. “Their willingness to go above and beyond their regular duties to make this fundraiser a success is much appreciated.” Said Andrea Abbott-Kokosin, Executive Director. “All funds will be used to support adults with mental health or age-related challenges in North Simcoe and Muskoka.”

We're still looking for gently used clothing, household items, books, 📕 shoes, 👞 linens, toys, 🧸 and more until August 21.

Boston Pizza Midland supports
Wendat Community Programs🙏

Since 2005, Boston Pizza Midland has raised $722,417 to support Wendat Community Programs through their
annual Charity Golf Tournament.
The 20th annual tournament was held on Monday June 22, 2026, at Brooklea
Golf Course and raised $72,943.

All proceeds raised by Boston Pizza at the golf tournaments are used to purchase vehicles to transport clients to and from a range of programs provided by Wendat Community Programs. Currently, there are five vehicles on the road.

“Thanks to Boston Pizza Midland, we can ensure that transportation is available to bring adults with mental illness to our social club and frail seniors to our Day Program.
We appreciate this ongoing support”, said
Andrea Abbott-Kokosin, Executive Director at Wendat. “We thank Andy Staffen and the staff of Boston Pizza Midland for their hard work and support of Wendat.
We also thank all the sponsors, prize donors and participants for making this tournament a success.”
