SISA provides a number of support services for new immigrants in the Medicine Hat and district area.

Saamis Immigration Services Association (SISA) has been operating in Medicine Hat for over 20 years. Since its inception on April 1, 1988, SISA has been successfully assisting immigrants and refugees settling in and around Medicine Hat. SISA and its programs are funded by the Government of Canada through the department of Citizenship and Immigration. SISA runs four main departments:
• Language Instruction for Newcomers to Canada (LINC) - ESL classes
• Resettlement Assistance (RAP) orientations and integrative supports
• Settlement Workers in the Schools (SWIS)
• Community Connections (CC) - volunteer mentorship programs, inclusion events and programming
