World Refugee Day, observed on June 20th, emphasizes the importance of protecting and supporting the more than 117 million people who have been forcibly displaced by conflict, violence, and persecution around the world. Marking the 75th anniversary of the 1951 Refugee Convention, it reaffirms the global commitment to ensuring safety, dignity, and human rights for refugees. The theme, “Until Everyone Is Safe,” calls on governments, communities, and individuals to uphold refugee protection and help displaced people rebuild their lives.
