Celebrating Mrs. Mary Owen 💙

After nearly three decades of faithful service, Mrs. Owen is retiring from MRCS.

Since joining our staff in September 1997, Mary has served our school community in countless ways. Over the years, she has taught Grade 1, Kindergarten, Grades 6/7, Grade 8 Sewing, Grade 10 Life Skills, ELL students from Kindergarten through Grade 12, and served as both a partner teacher and prep teacher across multiple grade levels.

While her roles have changed throughout the years, her heart for students has remained constant. Through her care, patience, creativity, and commitment to Christian education, Mary has impacted generations of MRCS students and families.

For many students, Mrs. Owen was one of the first teachers to welcome them into the school community. For others, she provided support, encouragement, and guidance at key moments in their educational journey. Her influence reaches far beyond any single classroom.

As she enters retirement, we are grateful for the years she has invested in the life of MRCS and the countless lives she has touched along the way.

Thank you, Mrs. Owen, for 28 years of faithful service. May God richly bless you in this next chapter.

Congratulations to our top Elementary School runners from Kindergarten through Grade 5! 💙

At our final Elementary School chapel of the year this past Friday, students were recognized for their hard work, perseverance, and outstanding performances. Rosettes were presented by Mrs. Haynes and Mr. Davison as we celebrated these student-athletes and their accomplishments.

We’re proud of the dedication, sportsmanship, and determination shown by all of our runners this year. Well done to each of our award recipients!

Parents, this one's for you. 💙

Throughout the year, our school community has been blessed by the countless ways parents have volunteered, supported events, chaperoned field trips, served in classrooms, encouraged staff, and invested in the life of MRCS.

As a small token of our gratitude, we'd love to invite all parent volunteers to our Volunteer Appreciation Afternoon on June 18 at 3:15 PM in the Elementary School Gym.

Join us for refreshments, snacks, fellowship, and community as we celebrate the many contributions that help make MRCS such a special place. As an added bonus, we'll also be watching Canada take on Qatar in the FIFA World Cup together! ⚽

Thank you for partnering with us, serving alongside us, and helping our students flourish. We are grateful for you and all that you've contributed this year.

Please RSVP by June 16 using the link provided in the parent email.

Last week, Mr. Unger’s PHE 6/7 classes hosted their Formational Learning Experience (FLEX) through a special Parent Fitness Evening! 💪🏼

Throughout the event, students demonstrated what they’ve learned about being faithful temple-keepers by living physically active lifestyles. Guided by Mr. Unger’s deep hope and curricular learning targets, students led their parents through a series of engaging fitness activities that fostered movement, connection, and community.

The evening was filled with laughter, encouragement, and meaningful conversations. It was inspiring to see students take pride in their learning while sharing the experience with their loved ones. More than just a fitness event, it was a beautiful example of kingdom-building and real work for real people in action.

A few weeks ago, our Grade 5 students travelled to Victoria for an unforgettable learning experience filled with exploration, discovery, and community. 💙

From visiting historic landmarks and engaging with British Columbia's rich history to sharing adventures and memories together, the trip brought classroom learning to life in meaningful ways.

Field trips like these give students the opportunity to deepen their understanding of the world around them while building friendships, confidence, and independence along the way.

We're grateful for the teachers, parent volunteers, and organizers who helped make this experience possible - and for the many memories our students will carry with them for years to come.

WEEKEND CHALLENGE — OUR FINAL WALKATHON PUSH! 💙

We're entering the final days of Walkathon fundraising, and we're so close to our goal!

From June 5-7, any student who raises $50 or more online will be entered into a draw to win a free MRCS T-shirt. The winner will be announced Monday morning.

Thanks to the incredible generosity of our community, we have already raised $59,440 toward our $65,000 goal. Every donation over the next few days helps us move closer to completing Phase One of our Third Floor Campaign and reaching the finish line together.

Whether you're sharing your fundraising page, reaching out to family and friends, or making one final donation, every contribution makes a difference.

Let's finish strong, MRCS! 💙
