Meet another member of The Commons Community! Morgan Mayer is a Lumsden based entrepreneur whose creative spark and community spirit shine through everything she touches. As the founder of Sweet Pea and Noelle (2016-2025) Morgan built a reputation for blending style with heart. She is also the visionary behind The Station, a vibrant event space that brings people together to celebrate life’s most meaningful moments.

Affectionately known by her friends as “the people’s auntie,” Morgan is celebrated for her generosity, humor, and deep roots in her community. Outside her ventures, she draws on her lifelong passion for music and musical theatre, having spent years performing and contributing to Regina’s rich arts scene—a creative foundation that continues to inspire her work and relationships today.

She is currently involved with MemoryKPR, a Saskatchewan based, female owned event content platform, and the Events & Marketing Manager with the Regina and District Chamber of Commerce.

We are grateful to have her expertise creating events and programming for the commons!

Meet Landyn, another community member helping shape The Commons.

Landyn Uhersky grew in Lumsden. And brings wealth of knowledge spanning public‑sector strategy, cooperative development, and small‑business leadership. He has served in multiple governance roles, including industry cooperatives, local associations, and private boards, bringing a strong understanding of policy, accountability, and collaborative decision‑making.

Landyn is deeply committed to community resilience, localism, and sustainable development, shaped by his work in continuous improvement, renewable systems, and permaculture design.

Now raising his family in the valley, he is eager to contribute his skills and values to help Lumsden Commons grow into a lasting, community‑driven hub.

With a background in early childhood education, interior design, and renovation work, she brings both practical skills and a strong understanding of what families in Lumsden need. As a mother, educator, and community member, she’s passionate about creating spaces that feel safe, inclusive, and welcoming to everyone.

Across Canada and the U.S., researchers are sounding the alarm: people are more isolated than ever. Hybrid work, long commutes, and busy schedules mean fewer casual interactions — the kind that quietly keep us grounded.

Third spaces help fill that gap.
They offer:

- a place to go when you just need to be around others

Meet Courtney Veverka, one of the people helping shape Lumsden Commons.

Courtney is a casual RN and mostly stay-at-home-mom who is serving as a working board member on the Communications Committee. She loves gardening, watching things grow, shopping at local markets, and experimenting with different kinds of sourdough. In her former city, she used to attend mother/baby groups and other children’s programming at a local centre that she found incredibly beneficial to her and her (now) toddler.

She looks forward to creating a similar atmosphere at Lumsden Commons. Right now, she is working on outreach across different platforms and looks forward to liaising with local community members. After all, the Commons is being built by neighbours, for neighbours.
